Re: Bundesliga review

FC, but I went to a lot of Fortuna matches as well when they played in the 2. Bundesliga (like many FC-Fans did, by no means such thing like a bitter rivalry between the Clubs - we are both Cologne! (probably apart from the short time in the late 90's when we both played in the 2. Bundesliga and Fortuna won two of the derbies...), though FC Cologne's last title was a cup final win over Fortuna (played in Cologne - not Berlin, which is Germany's 'Wembley' nowadays - in 1983.)

Re: Bundesliga review

Hertha BSC 6-1 Eintracht Frankfurt att. 54, 376
1:0 Ramos
2:0 Brooks
2:1 Meier (pen)
3:1 Allagui
4:1 Allagui
5:1 Ramos
6:1 Ronny

WTF, was that, Bembeltown?

It was a disaster...our defense simply didnt exist. :( I was expecting the worst (still got the "we will fuck it up" mindset), but this was even worse than expected.

We could very well be in deep shit after the first couple of games. Bayern next, then Braunschweig who will be top motivated and Dortmund. And inbetween we travel to fucking Azerbaijan....That reminds me..I should try to organise the Visa. ;)

Re: Bundesliga review

After watching the highlights from the weekend I am was very surprised and impressed by Braunschweig and they were very unlucky to get beat. Bremen look like they could have a long season.... Again.

Lived in Krefeld for a while and followed FC Bayer 05 Uerdingen whilst there and occasionally went to the Mungersdorfer to watch FC.... into the old SudKurve and then climb over the chain into the better seats with a Cologne fan (we both played for a club near Meijel in Holland). Great times, great bier (Kolsch and Alt) and pommes budde!

Waiting for the club to officially confirm what they are offering for the fans in terms of travel. There is supposed to be an offer to be anounced later today (its still 50/50 if the club can organise a plane due to the vacation period).

Unless you take the package offered by the club you are in trouble to get the Visa until next week (unless you drive to Berlin to get the Visa directly from the embassy), as the standard process via the internet can take up to 15 days. :(

People on the official forums are coming up with the weirdest travel plans already and that includes a 87 hour trip by train (one way).

7 days if the train has a stop in Mainz :)

My Wifes family moved to Manchester from Krefeld at the turn of the century as it was linked to Manchester regarding textiles.

Bayer were a big sponsor when I watched them on TV in the 90s but when they withdrew it all fell apart.Seem to recall they had an American playing for them at the time who I always wanted City to sign.
