I've been to Schalke before, but has anybody had any experiencing of travelling without a ticket. I presume they have touts, but are we best going to the ground early or hanging around the hauptbahnhof?

They are most of the time on the bridge between the stadium and the tram station

Cheers Pal !!

We're doing a triple header in March with tickets already sorted for Fortuna Dusseldorf on the Friday and Cologne on the Sunday.

The only snag is that according to their website, Schalke's Saturday game against Hoffenheim is already sold out.

Sorry to suggest this Ruhr, but I think you can buy tickets in the away end from Hoffenheim. Might be cheaper than from a tout. You dont have to support them!

I had looked at a trip that weekend myself, but hoping (but not expecting) City to get through in the Champions League so I might need the cash. If we get knocked out I'll try to get a trip in before the end of the season.

I know what you mean. I'm also doing Barcelona, which all said and done is more expensive than the Dusseldorf flight, 3 nights, and 3 games combined.

Really good to see Nasty playing again and doing well. Did I read it correctly somewhere that if he plays a certain number of games for them the move becomes permanent?

Yes, the whole Nastasic saga has been a bit strange. I suspect we will read it about in the tabloids next summer.

germany´s most successful club coach ever, Udo Lattek, died at the age of 80.

he won the champions cup in 1974 with Bayern München, the uefa cup in 1979 with Borussia Mönchengladbach and the cup winners cup in 1982 with CF Barcelona. He also won 6 german championships with Bayern and 2 with Mönchengladbach and 3 german cups with Bayern. He was suffering from Parkinson and dementia. His wife had recently reported that he had lost all of his interest for football due to his illness.
