Always nice to see Bayern take a hiding. Some great goals from Wolfsburg, de Bruyne looked particularly impressive.
I'd like us to look at de Bruyne in the summer, I think we would be improved as a squad with him in it.

Dortmund now bottom, despite a decent point at Leverkusen, and there are some quite poor sides above them, its no longer a blip them being down there, they are in serious relegation trouble, but 7 teams separated by 3 points.

Dortmund broke the record with the lowest passing quote recorded since 2004/05 (when they started recording it) with a 43% passing quote.
132 good passes, 152 failed ones...

Dortmund were just so bad. Ginter should have stayed at least four more seasons at Freiburg, a bad buy from Dortmund, but maybe even worse for his career.

Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Aubameyang, Immobile, Ramos, Ginter and Sahin. That's the best part of 80 million and not one of them is good enough. At the same time they have left the likes of De Bruyne, Erikson. Throw in the 25 millin they should have had from Lewandowski and that's close to 100 million to spend in 2 years and it has all been wasted. Need to get rid of all them.

Disaster of a season.

Guardiola played his typical tactics and Wolfsburg were extremely focused after the respects paid to Malanda. Sad to see that just a year ago Bayern regularly fielded a team where everyone was world class and apart from Dante had a shout at being the best in the world. No stand out team in the CL, but would be surprised if Bayern get to the semis unless they get an easy draw.

It's shocking to see such Dortmund demise this season.

It does not come that surprising - only the extent of it does.
Why do you say that? History?

Feeling. Wishes. But with a lot of signs. The league has changed - but Klopp has not adapted his system to it - has not looked for other types of players on the transfer market etc. When you play badly until you receive a successful set-piece and only then you start to perform as the opponent opens up to hunt for a better result that is telling.

If the match against Wolfsburg should be an indication for Bayern not coming far in the CL this season I do not know what the match against Fürth in the treble season (that we luckily won but the match was terrible) or the 1:3 loss against Gladbach the season before was... Last season Bayern got caught in the last test match 0:3 against Salzburg and we can be lucky with that result as Salzburg was more than this 3 goals better. It is always like a wake up call after the training camp - but maybe it has to do with the fitness curve, too, as Bayern tries to have the best fitness values not in February but in April/May. Things just do not always go smoothly and you have to work hard for your success. In all of the named seasons we reached atleast the semi final...

I guess a spanking after every great trainings camp is something that Bayern badly needs...
6 weeks in which the world tells you how great you are, in which everybody just asks when you get champion and if the league is boring, in full harmony... - it is not bad if something gets you back on the ground that tells you that even you have to work hard for every win...

True Klopp's desire to buy players that only press and can run has caused the problems. There is a lack of technique. I am not sure it's a good thing in the long run that so many German clubs have copied the Dortmund model. Last season they had a lot of injuries though.

It's not about one bad result. It's about problems in your tactics, which even when you win are exposed.

The High Line is always going to be exposed against good teams with speed.
Alonso is not the player he used to be and if harassed he will be caught on the ball. This was evident last year for Madrid and for Spain at the world cup.
Your full backs are not good enough to defend one one one against skillful wingers.
New players like Gotze/Lewandowski are struggling to fit into Guardiola's tactics and not playing at their full potential.

Don't get me wrong you are still a great team, but not the monster of the last few seasons. Last season when you were a lot better you still only beat United and Arsenal. I think it will be interesting if you have to play any of Madrid/Chelsea/Barca/City/Atletico.

Not sure whether Du Bruyne would have much of an impact at City unless he was bought specifically to replace Nasri. I saw him play for Werder Bremen a couple times in 2013 and he struck me as one of those players who drifts in and out of games and doesn’t really impose himself

The really strange one is Antony Modeste who was an unused sub when Blackburn lost 3-0 at the ETIHAD in 2012, but is now averaging a goal every two games at Hoffenheim.

Strange to see Dortmund struggling watched them play arsenal in the champions league earlier in the season and they were the much better side , it was 2-0 but could have been more.
