Cheers. Why is there no Friday game? Not even in Buli 2?

I know it's the pokkal during the week, but there are plenty of teams not involved....

May, 1st is a traditional riot day in germany, so police has no forces for Bundesliga matches...

Haha Traditional Riot Day?

Not an answer I was expecting. Are the riots against anything in particular?

the state and capitalism (from the left and the right, both against the police and each other)

police urged the Bundesliga some years ago to cancel all matches on this day

Very important match for us - Schalke vs Leverkusen.

Leverkusen is 4th with 3 points more than Schalke and have a lead in Gelsenkirchen at the end of first half. If Schalke qualifies for Champions League, we'll most probably be in third hat.

Leverkusen were deserving winners. They had the better chances and won whilst resting a lot of first team players. Schmidt is just the better manager for me. I thought that Di Matteo would have Schalke playing more fluid football, but apart from the Madrid game (where there was no pressure) they have not really played attractive football. They have a nice fixture list ad Gladbach have quite a difficult one, but they will have to pick up form.

As for Schmidt I don't think he has players quite as talented as either Wolfsburg, Schalke or Dortmund, but is doing a great job. Bellarabi has come along really well and they were so unlucky to lose to Atletic.

Dortmund were pretty bad as usual. At least Klopp picked a better balanced attacking three with a creative player (Kagawa), next to a winger (Kuba) and Reus. Not sure Kuba will be back to his best until at least next season. In the end it was Bittencourt that won the game for Dortmund by getting sent off. Had it remained 11 vs 11 they probably would have lost. I guess Klopp wants fourth, but surprised he is not given the likes of Dudziak and Ginter more minutes to see if they are good enough for next season. It seems he has finally realised that Immobile, Jojic and Mkhitaryan are not good enough. No surprise that not one of them came on.

This is the stat that shows just how much Reus has carried Dortmund this year. Reus has played 16 games this season and missed 10. That's a good sample and really shows how the team would do without Reus. If they had gotten points at the same rate without Reus as they have with him they would be fifth. If they had gotten points at the same rate with Reus as they had without him they would be bottom.

26 games with Reus would give them 40 points at 5th place.
26 games without Reus would give them 21 points and dead last.

Bayern getting beat 2-0 at home to Gladbach.
Guardiola is just like Wenger. Great at coaching players, but keeps making terrible mistakes tactically. Only difference Guardiola has inherited the two greatest club sides in recent times.

Bayern's record against top teams is very poor this season. A few weeks ago I thought he had decided to play the sensible formation with the 4-2-3-1. Everyone knows that Alonso and Schweinsteiger does not work. They really miss Ribery too. When you are playing the 3rd best team in the league it's not the time to play silly formations. They should win the CL, but I don't trust Guardiola. If he fails to win at the least another cup Bayern should fire him and get Tuchel. I worry what Barca/Madrid will do to them or even Juve/PSG should they play so stupidly.

Gladbach were brilliant. Favre was brilliant and got the tactics spot on. Hermann such a good player. Strange they have so few players in the National team, but Podolski can still get in. They had some hard fixtures coming up, but the win today seems to have settled their position in the top 4. The Bundesliga table is an example of good management off and on the field. Wolfsburg/Leverkusen/Gladbach have done the best this year on and off the field and make up 3/4 top teams.

Well played Monchengladbach, but surely that can’t be the same Manuel Neuer who looked so impressive at the World Cup.
No Plan B for Bayern. Sounds familiar.

I’m beginning to fear for Hamburg. The players looked frightened on Friday night.

Just an off day. Usually is brilliant, but this is not the first time for Bayern. It's just stupid from Pep. You have the the two best full backs in the world and you play them in midfield. You then play a high line with Alonso/Schweinsteiger in front. Who would play Bernat and Rafinha when you have Lahm and Alaba? Germany are lucky they stopped following Guardiola's menthods and played 4-2-3-1.
