Watched the Bayern game. They really have so many options it is scary. Dante a bit rusty and just do no trust Boateng at the back, but apart from that brilliant. Mandzukic's third goal was a great team move. Robben for me is the third best player in the world and even more dangerous he has stopped being selfish. Last year they had quality in the first team, but no options of the bench if things were going badly. Now they have quality everywhere. Robben picked up a knock, but Shaqiri or Muller can come into replace him. I fancy them or Madrid to win the CL this year.

Robben for me is the third best player in the world

Robben is a great player but at the moment he isn't even the third best player at Bayern let alone third best in the world.
Ribery is in fantastic form at the moment as are Kroos, Mandzukic, Müller and Shaqiri.

Ribery is a world class player and has done it on the biggest stage for a long time. Kroos has not put in match winning performances on the biggest stage, though he has improved his physical attributes this year and may do better. Too early to judge Mandzukic. As for Muller the guy is class, incredible player, but he is not better than Robben.

You are judging things on the last 4 matches, I am judging things on the last 4 years.

Shaqiri is a steal and a fantastic buy. He is only 20 and has the potential to become world class.

They're not doing so well tonight, surprise defeat in Champions League. I'm going to see Bayern at the Allianz, end of November and combine the game with first weekend of Munchen Christmas markets/many choice beers!. Happy days. Robben is overrated in my opinion, not a team player at all. Would not like to see him at City

Funny how Bayern can totally dominate the Bundesliga with all their straight wins but still lose to a rather unrated Club in the CL...

Come on Arsenal, come on City

They did not dominate their last match in Bremen - but they had the patience to wait for their time.

Their number 10 Hleb has played for Arsenal and Barcelona...

But, yes, that can happen. Every club, I guess. You do not get in your first chances, than you get back 0:1 and you have to fight against a team that is well organized and for whom this is the match of the year. It is easier to play against Real and ManCity... And Bayern lately never was good in coming back.

You open up your own match - and you catch another good counter attack.

And some of your players do not have their best day...

Barcelona was lucky against Spartak Moskau two weeks ago. You cannot underrate any club in the Champions League, especially not that in the east. Everything can run smoothly, but you do not have a guarantee...

Hardly, I've been a season ticket holder since 1987.

Anyway as for the weekends games I expect us to make it seven wins in a row at home to Hoffenheim tomorrow and I'm hoping that Frankfurt (at Gladbach) and Dortmund (at Hannover) will slip up.
I just can't see Hoffenheim giving us much trouble at home given their form so far this season.

-- Fri Oct 05, 2012 2:57 pm --

One of those things. We've had a great start with 9 wins in 9 games in all competitions, sooner or later you have an off day and Borisov are a better side than they are given credit for tbf.

I wonder who will lose their patience first: Volkswagen with Magath or Magath with his players. Wouldn't be surprised to find them yet at another shopping-spree during the next transfer window. 'Vorsprung durch Technik?!'

Having 2 of the 3 last matches away against Schalke and Bayern certainly did not help it. And against Mainz they had one chance after the other but did not score - and Mainz made 2 goals out of nothing...

They are not the only teams that are in other positions than you would have thought before the season... - but the difference in the table between no. 5 and 18 are 6 points...

Results of today:

(18.) FC Augsburg - SV Werder Bremen (8.) 3:1
surprising
(14.) SC Freiburg - 1.FC Nürnberg (12.) 3:0
(17.) SpVgg Greuther Fürth - Hamburger SV (10.) 0:1
since van der Vaart plays for Hamburg again they gained 10 points...
(11.) 1.FSV Mainz 05 - Fortuna Düsseldorf (6.) 1:0
not surprising
(4.) FC Schalke 04 - VfL Wolfsburg (16.) 3:0
(1.) FC Bayern München - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (9.) 2:0
Mandzukic knocked out Müller (they were both going into an arial fight - he had a cut and a swollen left eye) who made an assist for the first goal of Ribery before he left the field after 25 minutes for Shaqiri. Remarkable as it was the 8th time in 8 consecutive Bundesliga matches (last and this season - he had the flu in one match) he played that he had the assist or the goal for the first Bayern goal. Both goals by Ribery. Robben injured.

tomorrow
(13.) Borussia Mönchengladbach - Eintracht Frankfurt (2.)
(15.) VfB Stuttgart - Bayer 04 Leverkusen (7.)
(5.) Hannover 96 - Borussia Dortmund (3.)

table
1 - Bayern München 7 matches - +19 goal difference - 21 points
2 - E. Frankfurt 6 +8 16
3 - Schalke 04 7 +8 14
4 - Bor. Dortmund 6 +8 11
5 - Hannover 96 6 +5 10
6 - F. Düsseldorf 7 +3 10
7 - Bay. Leverkusen 6 2 10
8 - Hamburger SV 7 -1 10
9 - Mainz 05 7 -1 10
10 - SC Freiburg 7 +1 8
11 - Werder Bremen 7 -3 7
12 - 1899 Hoffenheim 7 -4 7
13 - 1.FC Nürnberg 7 -7 7
14 - Bor. M'gladbach 6 -5 6
15 - FC Augsburg 7 -6 5
16 - VfB Stuttgart 6 -7 5
17 - VfL Wolfsburg 7 -11 5
18 - Greuther Fürth 7 -9 4

-------------------------------------------

There has only been 3 teams that started with 21 points in 7 matches into the Bundesliga. And in all of this years Dortmund got Champion at the end of the season. Bayern only has the chance to win next week again as there never was a team with 8 wins in 8 matches.

Record Bundesliga start for Bayern, the first seven games have been won before by Bayern, Lautern and Mainz but never with such a good goal difference.
Funnily enough all the previous three times that a club won the first seven games Dortmund won the league but that won't happen this time !
World class performance by Ribery today.

The last matches today - was a nearly perfect Sunday... ;)

(13.) Borussia Mönchengladbach - Eintracht Frankfurt (2.) 2:0
(15.) VfB Stuttgart - Bayer 04 Leverkusen (7.) 2:2
(5.) Hannover 96 - Borussia Dortmund (3.) 1:0

The table

1 - Bayern München 7 games / goal difference +19 / points 21
2 - E. Frankfurt 7 +6 16
3 - Schalke 04 7 +8 14
4 - Bor. Dortmund 7 +8 12
5 - Hannover 96 7 +5 11
6 - Bay. Leverkusen 7 +2 11
