You usually write some good stuff but that's rubbish tbh

He's not close to top 10
It's probably, because you have been watching too much BIG EGO Robben, who turned into a selfish idiot determined to cut in and shoot every single time.

Yes Marca is basically a Madrid propaganda paper, but the fact they could write that Robben was genuinely better than Messi says a lot about his level of performance at the time. He was unbelievable. Politics forced him out, but he carried on around the same level of form at Bayern. Last year he was just too selfish. This season, though he is out injured he is returning to his old form.

EDIT

Here is a youtube clip of his match against Barca.

We will have to agree to disagree. Injuries are a given and a constant problem with Robben. He has always been selfish, but last year he took it to counter-productive extremes. However, over the last 3/4 years he is in a special group with Iniesta, Xavi, Schweinsteiger etc

Robben last year had injury problems and then he had to fight with a system that did not match his strengths. Müller had the same problems all year. They play faster right now and with more movement and that gets both players to get in gear again. But if you do that you need the right players in the central midfield.

Robben in the right system is phenomenal. Like in 2009/10 and in the second part ov 2010/11. Tell me a right winger that does 12 goals and 10 assists in 14 matches or 16 goals and 7 assists in 24 matches - that were his numbers in this two years. He never made that before like this, that is why I talk about the right system. He needs somebody like Müller in the middle (he told in an interview just two weeks before that it is like this even if critics of him then mentioned that it might be just because like this he does not have him as an opponent for the right side ;) ) for that who opens him spaces and holes for his shots and somebody like Lahm behind - and a faster match. In a slower system - like Bayern played it in the last year - he is less efficient. That is why somebody like Martinez in addition to a healty Schweinsteiger was so important!

But everybody of this attacking players needs the matching surrounding to thrive...

But Robben and Ribery have gotten very strong competition even for their spots. Heynckes will even put them in rotation. In the recent 12 matches Müller had 9 goals and 6 assists, Robben 2 goals and 4 assists, Ribery 2 goals and 4 assists, Kroos 4 goals and 2 assists (maybe with 100 minutes difference in playing time) - and now even Shaqiri with 1 goal and 4 assists in the 330 minutes he played... - only three of them can play in so many different combinations.

He was phenomenal at Madrid in the 08/09 season too. The guy has made 2 Champions League finals and a world cup final in the last 3 years. Says a lot about his level.

I agree a lot with what Robben said about Muller opening up the pitch. Muller is a genius. His movement is fantastic. He understands football so well. The first time I saw him he had just broken into the Bayern team and I had not read any reports. I did not rate him at first, because the way he was playing I assumed he was a 30 year old German striker had never heard about. This was because he was so astute with everything he did. Was shocked when I found out he was 20. Knew then he was something special.

The competition at Bayern is fantastic this season and everyone is going to have to fight. I can see injuries being a blessing sometimes so that everyone gets a game.

Watched the Bayern game. They really have so many options it is scary. Dante a bit rusty and just do no trust Boateng at the back, but apart from that brilliant. Mandzukic's third goal was a great team move. Robben for me is the third best player in the world and even more dangerous he has stopped being selfish. Last year they had quality in the first team, but no options of the bench if things were going badly. Now they have quality everywhere. Robben picked up a knock, but Shaqiri or Muller can come into replace him. I fancy them or Madrid to win the CL this year.

Robben for me is the third best player in the world

Robben is a great player but at the moment he isn't even the third best player at Bayern let alone third best in the world.
Ribery is in fantastic form at the moment as are Kroos, Mandzukic, Müller and Shaqiri.

Shaqiri was steal...

Totally agree - absolute madness IMO that we didn't move heaven and earth to get him over here. I think it's easier for Swiss players to move to Germany for cultural reasons, but still anyone who'd watched him knew of his talent.
