Just been to Frankfurt downtown trying to find myself a City top, just to be greeted by tons of United shirts and stuff in the first shop I was in.

When I asked one of the salesman for a City shirt he looked at me like a fecking alien....

Tried to leave as fast as possible just to bump into some asian bloke with a Chelsea top at the next corner. :(

Not the best way to start the day.....

Your chances of spotting a city top will increase from next month as me and the family are moving to ingelheim but will probably be in Frankfurt quote a bit as it has the closest dim sum restaurants. Anyway sometimes think it's nice as you get the more knowledgeable football fan coming up and talking to you rather than the rag wannabes asking about Ryan gigs. You could always do what I do when I go to the inlaws in malaysia I kept going in the same shop asking if they had a city top until some day I walked past and in the window next to the rags, barca, Madrid etc was the worst faked city top you'd ever seen.

That is why you go into winter training camps...

I would imagine there are probably more than 33 in England however there are 7 clubs who have better attendances than city which shows how well followed football is over there.

Sven Göran Eriksson will join the coaching team at 1860 München. A compromise in the ongoing quarrel between club managers and the jordanian investor, who wants Eriksson as a new headcoach.

A couple of pages back we talked about an increase of fans with fascist background at Aachen and Dortmund and there is some interesting news:

Ultras Aachen has recently decided to boycott the games of Alemannia Aachen until the club does something against an organisation called "Karlsbande" which is fascist to the core.

In the eyes of Ultras Aachen the club doesnt take this issue serious enough and doesnt really care about the fact that they are hosting a right wing fan club in their place, so they want to make a statement by staying away from games until the issue has been addressed.

Werder Bremen has meanwhile banned several fascist Borussia Dortmund fans from attending BvB´s away game at Bremen on the next matchday.

Maybe they should start banning communists too ?

You haven't got the facts quite right, to be fair - or the Aachen Ultras haven't. The Karlsbande Ultras have been infiltrated by around about 20 right wing nutters, and it's difficult for the 99% of decent members to do a right lot about it.

The Aachen Ultras have their fair share of nutters too, but on the basis they are not right wing, they don't get highlighted the same.

This is a note from the S3 Neon, who were part of the Karlsbande long before the infiltration. It's in German so you might be able to make more sense of it than me, as Google Translate doesn't work so well on the piece.

Liebe Fans der Alemannia,

liebe Fanclubs,

liebe Alemannia-Mitglieder

ARGH! I sometimes hate this forum...just spent ages to write a reply to you DD and then when I hit Submit the forum decided to eat my post! *sob*

Anyway quick and short summary of the article:

Basically it says that ever since Aachen Ultras decided to boycott the games the German press is portraying Alemannia as a hoard of Nazis.

However there is supposed to be some sort of statement after the match against FCB where all proper Alemannia fans are asked to gather on one of the stands with their flags, banners and scarfs and show that 99% of the fans only care about Alemannia and are no Nazis.

Sorry if I didnt provide the correct facts in my initial post, but my understanding was that the majority of Karlsbande is right wing and that they even attacked the more left wing Aachen Ultras at a match.

Since I have no particular interest in the club I only got my information from the press as well, so thanks for providing the proper facts! :)

Just out of curiosity, I understood that you adopted Alemannia as your second team, but are you/have you actually been living in Germany or how did your relationship to Aachen develop?

Mainly interested to see how other folks pick their second teams as I picked City as mine due to Rösler joining you lot. Always interesting to hear the storys other people have to tell. :)

Eriksson is not so horny to join 1860...
