Wonderful result for Wolfsburg in Dortmund. Two down at the death and then goals in the 89th, 93rd, and 95th to win it. Young Scots lad Burke notched the winner.

Wasn't Wolfsburg but Werder Bremen.

Stats of matches between the BVB and Bayern against promoted teams since 2012/13

BVB - 45 matches, 27 wins, 8 draws, 10 losses
Bayern - 44 matches, 39 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses

My mistake. Peculiar difference between them. Is there any reason for it?

Stuttgart Fans with a banner over the Leipzig away section:

"A whole section of historyless bastards"

Leipzig got a great team, won their first trophy and still can't sell out their away allocations.

The last thing I would expect from a German is any kind of talk about "history"

We have real bad parts in our country's history - even a lot of our clubs do not have a clean history in the 3rd Reich - let us have our own football history and traditions...

German fans of about all clubs are really fond of the 50+1 rule. Even if it means that Bayern wins the Bundesliga so often. The most would still prefer Bayern to win over a Leipzig win. ***

A club like Leipzig that is only there because a right wing Austrian soda manufacturer wants to advertise and buys a low level club - restricts membership to a handful of friends/employees just does not fit it.

You cannot compare that with English football where you have an ownership model all over the league.

The reason why they aren't really a competitor the recent seasons. And not all is about money difference. Clubs like Freiburg, Mainz or Union Berlin show about each year to be competitive against all the teams with multiple budgets.
Yes, with the financial situation Bayern usually would win about 6 or 7 out of 10 championship. But the rest of the years it is due to the "unabilities" of the competitors or bad work - or exceptionally good work of Bayern that they won it.
