Bundesliga

Schalke are usually the team I look out for, sheerly because they play in blue, and because I always signed Mpzena on Championship Manager 01/02 from them. The only team I don't particularly like are Bayern, no idea why.

As everybody has said so far in the thread, in terms of fan satisfaction the Bundesliga is miles ahead of the Premier League/La Liga/Serie A. We should take a leaf out of their book.

No-one likes Bayern. It's the big club, bully boy mentality. They believe they have a divine right to all the trophies and if they don't get them then they start flexing their muscles and try to sign every other decent player in the Bundesliga to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The thing about the bundesliga, is its always being touted as the best run league in terms of the clubs running their finances. This is complete bollocks. Every club can go cap in hand to the government for the money to build, or revamp new stadia. They get huge subsides for keeping ticket prices low and companies investing in them (the sponsorship revenue laws are a joke), can account for a good percentage of losses within there own EBITDA. They may all be PLc, but that simply means its easier to look healthy. If they took away the subsides, nearly all the grounds would be half empty relic's.

Schalke has 248 Million Euro debts. Because they had to finance their stadium on their own. Every german club has debts.

And ticket prices in germany are not generally low. It is just if you stand in the stadium, than it is still cheap

They're the German version of Man Yernited.

Shinji Kagawa looks a top player, was very impressed when I was him play against us pre-season.

Schalke has beaten Werder Bremen 4-0 recently (well that is easy, cause Werder is in real trouble), but they also have beaten Olympique Lyon 3-0 yesterday and qualified for the K.O.-stage of the CL. So i don´worry about Schalke. Stuttgart is in the relegation zone once every year, it´s a habit of them

Hoping to get over for a Pauli game again, end of January depending how much I get paid this month and the time off, if not, March or something when its a bit warmer, last time it was heavy snow.

Love the Bundesliga though.
