We often seem to start slow and maybe still haven’t finished our transfer business. Plus, these sort of little grounds of newly promoted teams still in the glow of their promotion and vociferous fans up for their cup final will always provide a stern test.

Yes strange how we seem to get the newly promoted boys always away first few games of the season when they have fully fit first 11s and are raring to go. Not like playing them in Jan when they're best players are suspended or injured or rested because its a big six pointer against Bournemouth 3 days later.
Ah well let's start off solid, I'll take a 0 - 2 for City and they'll be happy not getting twatted 1st game.

I’d rather that than spurs and liverpool away. Was it 2 or 3 seasons ago when our first 6 away games (can’t remember the order) were liverpool rags arsenal spurs chelsea and Brighton? That was the first season of open grounds after Covid with the very real possibility that we’d get the return home fixtures with no crowds (fortunately not the case). Now that was an away start to moan about (and we did)
