Burnley (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Brilliant hard fought win, was always gonna be a case of after the Lord mayor’s show but we toughed it out like champions

A few dafties on the pre match thread had the same opinions as the mental Sky pundits Ratboy and Micah who thought it’d be a cakewalk but it’s never easy at this stage of a run in.

Top of the fucking league 5 games to go !!!

Im in work, so when someone posted "1-1 nooooo" on the matchday thread with seconds to go I nearly threw up. After that result now feels great.

Absolute Minimum required, disappointing after such a wonderful start, Banjos and a few cows at training tomorrow

Five games to go and top of the league. It’s about getting three points at this stage. Arsenal game took more out of than imagined and we couldn’t step up a gear tonight but we still should have scored more. Psychologically though Arsenal no longer top and that’s huge regardless of the final score tonight. Expect changes for Saturday and another nervy game.

A win is a win, but Arsenal will take a bit of a lift from that!!

Most of them woukd have been expecting 3 or 4 like most of us.

We was awful in large patches agaisnt a side condemned to the championship.

We need to be better than this in our remaining fixtures.

Give Burnley credit, they defended deeply and why do you think the tarquins would score a hatful?

3 points it’s all you can really ask for. But the thing is City usually hammer Burnley and that was what everyone hoped for, me included. The one game it really mattered.

There's a reason Foden is still third in goals/assists despite not playing in what feels like forever. This team lacks goal scorers, bar Haaland, when he's not out there, and the other one, in Semenyo, is having a dip in form.

I see others talking about the performance, and it was indeed crap, but at this point of the season, it's about getting the points and worrying about the performances in the summer. We did that tonight. On to the next one.

Some tired legs from giving everything on Sunday.

A wins a win - I'd rather us miss a load of chances in a win than a loss.

One thing I hope Pep has learnt, stop moving O'Reilly - he's been out POTS at fullback. Aït Nouri isn't up to it at the moment, he might be next season.
