Burnley (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

They will, but they can write just as many stories about Arsenal being bottlers. All Arsenal fans are utterly convinced that the media hate them and are rooting for City.

Laughably some rag fans do too! They could start World War 3 and Stone on the BBC would still be spinning it as a positive!

Don't Arse fams pay for a BBC licence? They'd only need to listen to two mins of footy coverage to find the answer. Fat Scouse Git on MotD was quite clear he WANTED the Arse to win!

And as an afer-thought last nights result was probably better for the Arse than for us.

The ball will be in play for about 25 minutes a game what with all the diving, rolling, time wasting, 3 minute corner setup etc. It's the perfect game for them. They'll be rested!
No chance. Besides, 2 extra matches is the last thing they need at the moment, and they'll be lucky to get past Atletico for 180+ minutes without any injuries.

Wow calm down dear.
Going top was all that mattered obviously but it would of been even better had our finishing profitted us a couple more goals to really dampen Arsenal's spirits.
Like I said in another post, win all our games means we'll be scoring goals and that should make us champions again.
You don't have to remind me of what we've achieved in the last few weeks, so you can take you little rant elsewhere mucker.
It's everybody else who needs to calm down. We've gone top for the first time in nearly 7 months yet people are moaning because we didn't score more. Obviously it MIGHT have been better if we had scored more, I say "might" because it might not matter at all of we out-point Arse for the remainder of the season, which I believe we will.

People need to get a grip, there were more bottlers in here last night than Arsenal have ever had and we WON! Sorry I didn't think to search for your other post to see what you might have posted, sounds like it was stating the bleedin' obvious anyway but hey-ho.

Listening to 5 live this morning, they were saying that City had missed an opportunity, and only being top on goals scored, they would need to win all their remaining games. No! they only need to match Arses results. If Arse win all their games then so be it.
Funny isn't it, Arse have been top all season and they're going to win the title, but we go top and have scored more than them but we're not going to win it. That's more or less what they're saying.

An arsenal fan pointed out to me today that they have won 5 premier league games in a row just once this season and this was when they were at their best early on and blowing teams away. He's not confident at all they will do this again in their present form and he's not wrong. I believe we won't need to win every game left to win the league.

I'm surprised that so many blues are falling for the false 'should have battered them' 'missed opportunity' narrative being peddled so relentlessly by the media.

Burnley don't get battered at home, it was their last hurrah for the season, their last chance to be relevant in a positive way, and most importantly, City were involved in a win or bust game at the weekend, the physical and emotional toll of which should not be underestimated.
Exactly. Lost count how many posters used the words "missed opportunity in this thread last night, like all we had to do was turn up and score 4 or 5 goals.

Nobody has beaten them in the league at home by more than 2 goals, and last night was their last (albeit extremely slim) chance to stay in the Prem so they were never going to roll over. Despite that on another night we could have had three or four, sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't, it's not an exact science yet many on here seem to think it is.

Hilarious how many are calling it out, same people were probably calling Arsenal bottlers for the past couple of weeks. You couldn't make it up.

Exactly the point I've been making even before last Sunday's tie. CL matches aside, which they barely scraped through against a bang average team with just one goal over two legs, they've lost 4 on the run; to us twice, at home to Bournemouth (good time to mention that Newcastle have won more than Bournemouth), and to a Championship side in a must win match to keep their ailing hopes of a treble alive - or of winning anything at all for that matter.

And they're going to win the next 5? Not impossible of course but I'm not putting any money on it.

People are stupid.

Don’t recall Arsenal turning up at Wolves or Southampton and racking up the goals there recently.
Or v 10-man Chelsea, Brighton, City, Mansfield, Everton, Leverkusen (twice) or Sporting (twice), as well as us of course. They only scored 2 at most in any of those matches.

That doesn't look like a side that's going to put 3 or 4 past anybody on current form. Last time they scored more than 2 was against Spurs, and given how bad they've been this season that doesn't really count.
