Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

The game summed up for me today in two clip...

So many wasted opportunitys today...

Another thing about how many points we lead by - that is less important really than how many games to go because every match we stay double figures lowers the chance of anyone catching us.

We almost certainly are not going to win it by double figure points so worrying over the exact lead is unimportant unless it gets down to around 7 or 8.

The reason is if (when!) we do win it there will be weeks to go and we will rightly rest players and probably drop unexpected points. But all the other teams will be struggling to make 2,3 and 4 for champions league so have to go all out to the end as that race looks like staying tight.

So I do think we will win by less than many expect. Though potentially earlier than many do.

Oh but I’m not talking about mistakes. Mistakes are acceptable to some extent, but I’m talking about mentality. And you sound like a disguised rag. This forum is now full of you false and fake. I have nothing against Scholes but can you put him back in your rag closet.

You are slagging our captain off and would prefer Mangala and you throw out the rag card at me, you fucking prick.

Very poor 2nd hlf from us, final ball was awfull, sterlings miss was unbelivable, but we sat back & let burnley come on to us last 20mins, game shud’ve been over long since

I agree with the latter statements. We entered the week 12 ahead, and exiteit with an addaddition point. It would've been nicento hold on against Clarets, but hey ho!

The rags have to win every game, and every game they don't, is a move closer for us.

Frustrating they got that point, we brought it on ourselves missing so many chances.

Gutted for Sterling, I'm sure Pep will pick him up though.

Good we have a long rest now, get them fresh and ready for next weekend, hopefully David Silva will be back then too, and I think Laporte will start the next game.

Eddie did well today and we're still creating chances, and great goal from Danilo. 1-0 is always a risky score, at least we got a point and we're 13 points clear with a great goal difference.

Hope they work on finishing this week!

See my post above. Because when we do win it with games to go we will give the kids a chance as many want. And we will likely drop unexpected points now we are not chasing an unbeaten season once the title is secured.

It really only matters how you win and that you do win not by how many points.

People will remember our fantastic football this season for years to come not whether we won the league by 8, 9, 10 or 15 points.

Rightly so.
