Burnley (A) Post-Match Thread

Not sure why we played such a strong team, going to burn the players out again. We don't need to be going hard for this cup.

Solid performance - good to see a few players back (Laporte and Bernardo who i thought looked sharp when he came on).

Sterling looked very sharp as well

Palmer - good debut and kept it simple

Steffan got his gloves dirty so happy for him to keep a clean sheet - looks a good keeper and a tidy stop from the header.

Still look vulnerable at the back however and thats against Burnley - hopefully with Dias back there we will get better

A very pleasing performance after Leicester.

Laporte being back is huge.

Impressive performances by Torres, Palmer and Sterling.

Even Mendy played well.

Add Dias to that, get Bernardo back in properly and get Aguero and Jesus back and we're as good as anything out there.

90th minute, caught in possesion and gave it away for the first time in the match. More tellingly he almost won it back.

To be fair to him, he told Ake to pass it to somebody else and Ake hoofed it back at him.

Didn't see the game. Who was Laporte's CB partner? Someone on the post match thread said it was good to see Dinho in midfield. But if he was who the hell was alongside Laporte.

Dinho was until Rodri went off, though he did spend a lot of his time in midfield because burnley were playing the infamous 8-1-1 formation.

For those saying we shouldn't be going hard for this cup i say pfft. It's a preseason match, with some younger players getting experience. It's perfect.
