Burnley (A) Post-Match Thread

According to the BBC he is...

Night of positives for City

After last weekend's nightmare, this was much more positive for City as 18-year-old Cole Palmer offered a glimpse into the future while key centre-back Aymeric Laporte proved a calming influence on his return.

Born in Wythenshawe, boyhood City fan Palmer showed flashes of promise on his senior debut.

The teenager had one attempt that went over the bar and then tried to pick out Sterling to complete his hat-trick, with Burnley scrambling it clear.
So, if Rashford is the Wythenshaw Pele is Cole the Wythenshaw Messi?

Just watching highlights on Quest and must admit this kit is beginning to grow on me.
This is more the City we are used to. Enjoying the football. Loving it.

However, even on Quest they can’t resist the dig!! ‘An ailing Burnley team’ Ggrrr grrr.

But to be fair they are praising our KDB, Torres and Raz.
Ohhh just as I was feeling good about them they had to make the reference to money!

Why not?

There are only four trophies that we can win, and the League Cup is one of them.

For 35 years, our victory in 1976 was all we old fuckers had to cling onto, though Dennis Tueart's overhead effort was a bit special.

And if we win it this season, we will equal Littlewoods' record of four in a row and their total number of League Cup successes.

I hate this arrogance among certain City fans that somehow the League Cup is below us, and we should just give up on it. It makes them sound like Klippety.
League Cup final is great day out. The finals we've had in the last few years have been some of the best days I've ever had following City.

Yayas wonder strike against Sunderland. Beating the Dippers on penalties was priceless. Stiffing Le Arse 3 nil. Putting the thick Brummies back in their box.

It's just great to have a trophy in the cabinet while there's still frost on the ground and the clocks haven't even gone forward

Love the League Cup, I'm old enough to remember when aspiring to a poosible run to the semi's in the LC was about as good as it got, and laugh at me if you will, I'd take winning it with as much joy and satisfaction and ANY other trophy including that 'big boys' stitch up known commonly as, and with not a hint of irony, the 'Champions League'
