Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

The reason Pep plays Grealish is for the control he brings to our game, and Pep's football is all about control. Grealish rarely gives the ball away and progresses it forwards. For now that's enough, others can do the damage when they get it from him. Without Grealish we are more prone to losing the ball sooner in the build up and therefore more vulnerable to the counter attack. I agree with Pep, Grealish justifies his place in this team.

He may publicly back players he’s not happy with but he wouldn’t pick them regularly, and he picks Grealish regularly.
He did the same with Mahrez despite a much worst run of form and now look at him, and all the while we have a 75% win percentage. Apart from overthinking the odd important key game you can’t question Pep, he is a footballing genius - OUR footballing genius.

Sterling MOTM. Burnley weren't great and neither was our finishing second half. We did what was needed and not a lot more (not a negative thing).

I am not sure that is true when you look at our fixtures over the last 3 months and his appearances during that time versus other players.
Like who? Last couple of months we’ve only really played spurs and united he didn’t play the spurs one, he played the united one.
Go back to January didn’t play arsenal but played chelsea.
