Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

a very strange day for me.
i haven't seen the game. my total miss for what must be 30+ years . i used to go to every game until recently when i have done a mix of tv and home games .
due to covid i had no staff so I had no option but to open up the shop myself .
annoying that my tickets were unused .
sounds a good win and another 3 points in the bag.

be there for the dippers no matter what .
Sorry to hear that Bill. Must have been very strange for you, not having any link to the game today.

Does he though if it means shoehorning a better player, Foden, in as a false 9 ?
Foden is the best we have as a false 9. No one else presses with his intensity, and no one else's movement will cause as many problems to opposition centre backs. Besides I'd argue Fodens best position is as an attacking central midfielder not left winger. I long to see him given a run there but needs must.

3 points top of the league what could be better.
Once again a ref and VAR can not tell the difference between an assault and a run of the mill foul. Bastard twats all of them protecting players my arse.

I agree. Foden's best position is attacking midfield. He will play there eventually, when Pep thinks he is ready.

And if Liverpool pip us to all the major pots and Grealish continues to fail to influence games, then what? Many a manager can have a blind spot.,We’re probably going to have to win all 8 games. It’s a lot to expect De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden & Sterling to do on their own. Any half sensible fan is happy to give him time. But we don’t have time now. We don’t need great performances we need results, good bad or ugly. Grealish, love him or not, isn’t taking the pressure off. Jesus looked more like scoring in his 20 minutes that Grealish has for weeks.
If that happens then Liverpool deserve it. Look we didn’t get the striker we needed over the summer we got the skilful midfielder to replace our current crop 1 to 2 years from now but we are looking at getting Haaland for next season. The result is a season where we control virtually every game creating numerous chances before putting any into the back of the net. Despite that we are in pole position to win up to 3 pots, not bad I say.

The point I am trying to make is as fans we sometimes get obsessed with the present and lose sight of the big picture which is the next 2 or 3 seasons. I for one think Pep is about to assemble the greatest team to ever grace this land, and you never know he might do that AFTER winning the treble THIS season.

No. If we win the other 7, we can afford a draw next weekend. And if we actually (shock, horror) beat the cultists, we can afford to lose 1 of the other 7.
