Burnley (A) | Post Match Thread

Great win tonight and a good performance. Rhodri was incredible and so was Haaland for his finishing. Shame Kevin got injured I was a little bit surprised he started but no doubt he will be back soon enough. Up the blues.

Interesting to see Pep and Haaland having an animated discussion at half time - they are both perfectionists and hungry and by definition clashes like that are inevitable - remember this is after a treble winning season - but would rather see that than the shoulder shrugging passive gestures you see from other “top players and managers”
Wouldn't call it an argument, haaland looked to basically ignoring him

Very similar to the backend of last season. Not at our prettiest but probably at our most effective.

Thought Burnley had some decent spells, but there's a very soft underbelly there they will need to fix very quickly.

Think when Alvarez and Haaland click there will be a really special partnership there. They're still getting in each others spaces but give it a few games and I'm very excited by it. Haaland's first touch and link-up play dramatically improved from this time last year.

Not many variations of a back four from the 6 or 7 that we could choose from that make me nervous at this point. That season of Fernandinho, Otamendi and an injured Vincent Kompany feels like a long and distant memory.

Was that four academy kids on the pitch at the final whistle (and five including their lot?) Only seen glimpses of Cole Palmer, but he looks a bit calmer and more confident in his play.

3 goals and a clean sheet great result.

Burnley will cause teams a few issues this season, I thought they had a good go first half. they looked knackered second half though.

Rodri, haaland, Walker were brilliant tonight.

Overall good performance to shake off the rust and getting back to winning ways is the most important thing.
