Give over! This is a thread which gives us fans a chance to play coach in a virtual world. We are not daft enough to think Pep will actually get a poll of what the fans want and act on it. From what Pep has said in the presser he will play Ferna in defence, but a lot of fans can see the benefit of Ferna playing in midfield.

Premier league is badly slipping away and now is a good time to consider a different formation and/or tactics. What is there to lose? Perhaps even start Foden.
Oh, don't get me wrong I agree with most of the comments, but "I think we should" isn't the same as people saying "peps going to put dinho back on CM for this one"

Gundogan is not slow? I stopped reading then, you obviously did not watch Maguire last season at the Etihad just walk past him and then Henderson at Anfield when he again walked past Gundogan for the cross for the 3rd goal. Gundogan blows hot and cold and against high pressing teams he can't cope and goes missing.
Perfectly put mate.

Maybe not the right thread, but since some are still wondering about DM:

Fern is 34 and a half, contract till next summer (maybe another year as CB), the workrate at DM is too high at his age. He could help for a match or 2, that's about it. That was clear since Rodri has arrived. Well, to me it was.

Rodri is so young, has to learn a lot and also has to adapt to the mucher higher PL pace and intensity.
Takes some time, but I think he will come good.

Gundogan - like it or not - is exactly what Pep wants most of all to play his possession game:
perfection in ball control, very high passing accuracy and intelligence to read a match. Calm, experienced.
Nobody at City is better right now in those departments (David maybe, but not at DM).

Gundogan had his injuries and HAS to be a bit more controlled in 1on1s. He had to adapt his physical game,
that can be a problem sometimes (and many hate that!) - yes - but the advantages are still prevailing by far.

The accusation Gundogan is too slow or is slowing our game down is just nonsense, sorry.
When he isn't running across the pitch like mad he is just holding his position (ask Pep), ready to deliver,
always head up and reading the game.
He loves to speed up pace and play sharp passes into pockets or over the top,
but the runners have to make an offer first! Since many matches our wing play got dramatically lazy,
Raz maybe because he is overplayed w/o Sane, and don't let me talk about Mahrez or Bernardo...

We also have said in several threads, defence is only working as a team. If 1 DM has to cover the complete mid, we will always fail, no matter who is playing DM.

Wingers and AMs have to support DM.
That's how all those deep sitting teams make us suffer and kill the games, it's not too difficult.

Its easy to have good passing stats when most of them are sideways and backwards - he takes very few risks at all. HIs physical game is pretty much non exisistent and Ive never known a city player to be so half hearted in challenges and get away with it with fans.

Its not nonsence that he slows our game down - he cant drive forwad likfe B.Silva and Kev do in possession let alone like Raheem, Jesus do. And again with the point above he doesnt take risks with his passing so often slwos us down by not making the more risky pass.
His over the top passing is one of his attributes but its possibly the hardest to pull off....he tried at least twice against Newcastle and failed both times. Passing through the gaps like the silvas do and kev does (and Raheem is tryign to do) has been much more effective for us over the lat two seasons

Gundongan has had 2 full seasons to adapt to the much more physical high speed/intensity of the premiership and still hasnt done it. Notice how teams pick him as the one to press when in possession. Ive never seen him running around like mad, more like running around like he has concrete boots on!

You are defintely watching a different Gundogan than me!

Oh i agree...Pep has made that clear - hence why i said he has a bit of a blind spot on this one in my opinion.....and it makes us a weaker team as well (again in my opinion)....people will point to the run of games at the end of last season but there were other much more instrumental players than Gundogan in that (Kompany being one, Laporte being another as well as B.Silva, Sergio, Sterling and David Silva)......
Yep,i watched the 30 min highlights of the leicester and brighton games the other day and it was vinny that drove those 2 games as well as the others you mention,we were a different team then, all our key players playing and looked full of energy at the end of a long season, losing vinny and eric and the others some what out of form is enough, moving dinho who is so fundamental to defence and attack and throwing in a young newbie is killing us,i've never been this frustrated at pep, rodders should be rotating with dinho to learn the ropes whilst keeping control in the middle, add to that not stretching teams and wasting the space on the right wing we are unbalanced and wide open, grrr

Anyone know of decent places to park in Burnley? I've got a Manc Bee sticker on my car so hopefully its not set alight by them lot.
You’ll struggle getting a space near ground mate ‘cos its all side streets unless ur lucky!, curzon st multi-storey car parks prob ur best bet, right in town centre approx 10-15min walk to ground
