All credit to Vinnie for not compromising his principles, as many other managers have done, when they visit Etihad.

The Clarets certainly had their moments, especially in the first half, but the third goal, just after halftime, broke them.

It has been said before, but it is like he is a combination of our 2 former 'pretty decent' Argentinian strikers. It's almost as if he has the tenacity of Tevez and the composure and finishing quality of Sergio (his 2nd was an example of that yesterday I felt)

Yeah. What a talent. He’s not as good as either(that’s not a criticism as those 2 were unreal) but there’s a bit of both about him.

Foden looked determined, de Bruyne very high class. Generally good all over the park from the half hour onwards. Unsure about Ortega's weird little slow walk out to about 30 yards with the ball, he must have done it half a dozen times, bringing the game to a standstill.

I loved both of Alvarez's goals, the first a show case of incredible movement and technical interplay, the second a wonderfully direct counter, through ball and finish. Gorgeous.

To be fair to the keeper because of their tactics he often had absolutely no obvious pass on. Only team i’ve seen go man for man like that ( maybe Arsenal did but i was steaming) was Brighton. Interesting tactic compared to the usual parked busses but the problem for anyone trying that is it eventually leaves Haaland more space and when that happens nobody in the world can get near him.

One shot from 25 yards that Ortega dealt with and looking at it on the highlights looked like it was going wide
After 15 minutes we we’re dominating possession and I said, we score one goal and they’ll crumble
