I wouldn’t be getting our dicks out just yet, as I cautioned after we smashed Wolves. Burnley are diabolical and will get relegated:

Plenty to work on. Plenty of times shape was miles off and there was far too much ball watching on spare balls. Better teams would have clocked on and exploited.

Lots of good stuff as well. Doku, O’Reilly, Gonzalez all very good. Good going forward and good pressing at times.

Nice little string of wins. Get the injured lads back and kick on.

Correct, but that reason isn't Doku. As most of the football world realise, the drop off last season was due to a long and chronic injury list (can't believe after all this time I'm STILL having to point that out), and since then we've brough in a lot of new players and still have a lot of big name injuries and players just coming back. Yet we still managed 3rd place and a cup final when even with a few matches to go most on here were saying we wouldn't make CL qualification.

Problem is you lot never learn and it's depressing to keep reading it in the one period in our 130+ year history where we have dominated the league and broken all kinds of records.

Good win in the end but far from convincing. We should not be conceding 9 attempts on our goal at home to Burnley, we were quite fortunate to not go 2-1 down early in the 2nd half.
Weak link again was Savinho, he just is nowhere near the quality we need, rather play Nunes or Bobb there.
Still a long way to go in the way of progress but slowly we are hopefully getting there.

How anyone can say that Nunes is a weak link is beyond me. If he is then so are half the squad. A fine player imo as seen today again.

Nunes played as a playmaking midfielder at Wolves, but Pep has seen something in him that makes him believe there's a world class right-back in him. I trust Pep's judgement on this one.

Only on bluemoon would people be moaning that a 5-1 win wasnt good enough, a couple of weeks the dippers who everybody has already decided are champions needed a last min penalty to beat burnley, they also got a draw at forest last week but apparently according to some our performance is still shite cos we only won 5-1.

I fear the constant press negativity has really done a number on some of our fans and you feel like you cant take any positives from city, if the dippers or tarquins win 5-1 they are praised by everyone no matter who it is they are playing, we win 5-1 and its burnley are shit anyway, fucking ignore the press cunts and enjoy a 5-1 win despite us not playing as we can and missing players to injury, thats pretty fucking good.

The result was good, but overall it can’t be concluded that we can be hopeful about the rest of the season.
The players are inconsistent, like Nunes, who plays well in one match and poorly in the next.
Savinho once again showed that he is not suitable for this team at all and should have been sold to Tottenham in the summer.​

You carry on wallowing in your self-doubt, foreboding and misery then and let the rest of us enjoy it.

We need to fix the midfield and the team will perform. The control is gone and it hurts us because it means we can’t attack effectively or defend. Concern is Gonzalez is just not working. The hope is Reijnders adjusting otherwise we have the same problem as the last 3 years without Rodri.

Great first half, just didn't get the second goal we deserved and with their fluky deflected equaliser, the H-T scoreline flattered them. Doku probably just got pissed off crossing the ball after beating 3 defenders time and again then finding there was nobody in the middle waiting for it so he's decided to start having a go himself. Those of you who have woken up are now realising what we saw 2 years ago.

I've always been a Doku believer but he's definitely taken a step up this year

Always said he was skillful and obviously a good player. Shame it's taken 2 seasons for the penny to finally drop. Longer than most, but glad he's finally made it.

Being fair he’s got a lot more natural ability than most. If your game is just about getting it and passing simple like most these days there’s not too much to learn.
