Burnley (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Looking at the table we have now scored more and conceded less than the red scouse tramps.
Like I've been saying all season they are NOT that good. They've scraped late winners in 4 of the 5 games so far and nearly scraped a late equaliser today. And i'll say it again, nobody can get away with that for 38 games and their winning total last season wouldn't have been enough to beat us in any of our last 6 titles.

It's been obvious to anyone with half a football brain that he's a quality footballer. Like many players it's taken time for him to get up to speed in a City shirt - some of us have learnt not to judge to early. Remember "Plodri" and "FFS" - I could go on.
Totally agree with you. Too many self-proclaimed "experts" on here who don't understand why they're not world class football coaches.

A slightly disjointed performance and we looked out-of-sorts for the last 20 minutes of the First Half.

However there were loads of those type of games in previous seasons when we've gone on to become champions

For now it's 3 points, other results going in our favour, and a rest for Rodri.

See you all in Monaco.

One day i'll figure out why Nunes breaks so many of our fans' brains that they can't evaluate his performances on their merit. Maybe it's his face, it is quite annoying to be fair. Maybe it's just needing someone to blame and not feeling like blaming homegrown players who look worse. But it's right on cue, every single week, as soon as the result is bad, some people look for someone to blame and it's always him
Severely at fault for Burnley’s goal but played well rest of the game.

Great to come away with +4GD and 3pts after that, because it could have been a tough old day without Esteve’s own goals and assist when their two defenders challenged each other for a header which set up Haaland… I’ll take that any day though as I think that was quite a passive display outside Burnley’s helping hand.

Felt sorry for Foden. He was dropping deep, finding space in the pocket, making runs out wide and in behind, and he maybe got passed the ball one in every eight times he should have been. USE HIM, BOYS… he wants the ball, he’s good enough to be passed to when a man’s on him… USE HIM!

Great win in the end though!

Always said he was skillful and obviously a good player. Shame it's taken 2 seasons for the penny to finally drop. Longer than most, but glad he's finally made it.

The result was good, but overall it can’t be concluded that we can be hopeful about the rest of the season.
The players are inconsistent, like Nunes, who plays well in one match and poorly in the next.
Savinho once again showed that he is not suitable for this team at all and should have been sold to Tottenham in the summer.

poor first half but much needed improvement in 2nd.

Burnley is poor and we gave them what they deserved in the end.

Great result
Flattering however scoreline

1st half especially poor and sloppy
2nd half better but still not great.

Doku and foden definitely stand out players. Rest were pretty average

Sav was poor. Reijnders needs some serious work especially on his application off the ball....and his intensity levels.

With the scousers losing however that could prove a very important result but there is a real lack of quality at present...we are a moments team at present....just need consistency from quite a few players
