Burnley (H) Post Match Thread

Very tough game against a well organised and a team that is hard to beat thought we were lucky with the pen it was 50-50 and unlike other games this time we got the benifit .excellent result .

Also thought Gundogan's cameo was very promising at the end. I'm really looking forward to his development in our side.

Stones outstanding and definitely motm while Otamendi a close 2nd. Interesting to see Bernardo silva 2nd half when he appeared to play a bit more central. Not at our best today, but we can't always expect to be and apart from 5 mins at start of 2nd half we were in total control.

It was only harsh in that Pope avoided him for most of the tackle, but then caught him at the very end of it. And Silva did make the most of it.
Bein called it as a dive and sugesting could be s retrospective ban (and these fuckers get paid ) at worst it was 50 -50 .The way to help the ref is use video techonology .but that would put the comentaors out of a job

But it's still a pen.

FWIW half time commentators in the States didn't agree with in-match announcers -- they thought it absolutely the right call.

Great stuff. City march on. These goals coming only a couple of minutes apart are key to really knocking the stuffing out of opponents.
Today was a perfect example of why we need alexis, also Bernardo not at prem pace yet, great day but tired minds and bodies.
Alexis komps mendy and would of been a lot more comfortable and a few more legs rested.
Honestly I don't see where Sanchez fits in any more. There's no point reducing Sterling, Jesus or Sane's game time and Sanchez seem least likely to accept minutes on the bench out of anyone.

'Manchester City have allowed 14 shots on target in nine league games. Ludicrously solid.' Daniel Storey on twitter.

Not bad for a supposedly shonky defence.
Hey....Shonky...what a great word....not come across it before.....CTID

Looked lethargic today. We were in complete control, their attacking threat stopped the second Wood went off who had already bullied Otamendi 2/3 times before his injury nothing wrong with our approach but the passing wasn't as crisp, too many needless touches on the ball, and wasted some brilliant chances. Not bad though when you can not play well and still beat a very well organised team 3-0. Was vital we capitalised on United unexpected defeat and we did it well. Rest everyone possible on Tuesday even if it means going out and get them refreshed for the 3 tough games in a week starting next Saturday.

Conditions favoured physical side and they were very aggressive. We pulled out of a lot of 50-50s.

We were at a level below where we have been but still won comfortably. And great result in Yorkshire

I always thought this tbh, it is all well and good saying we will need him when we have a couple of injuries but the problems it can cause being over manned and they all want the minutes makes you wonder if he would be the right guy at the wrong time sort of a signing.

A quality player no doubt about it but we have several in that position already and he will stunt the growth of Sterling, Silva 2.0 and Sarne, maybe even Jesus if we bang Sanchez up front sometimes.
