Burnley (H) Post Match Thread

It is very wet at home. and it's very wet away,
It was wet last week, and it's wet today,
We do give a fuck cos we're very, very wet,
MCFC; splish splash.

Good performance after a hard game against Napoli. Burnley caused us approximately zero problems at the back.
Could have scored more but can't complain given the conditions.

Great result today in appalling conditions against a well organised Burnley defence. I think John Stones was exceptional - he seems to be getting better and better every game. I also thought Delph and Otamendi had great games. |I honestly thought they would have been sold by now but I guess that's why Pep's the Manager and not me. They have both been immense this season.

Slightly off topic, I watched the West Ham game on friday and I have to say that as much as I loved Joe Hart, Ederson looks to be a step up in quality.

Final thought, given we had Jesus and the Pope on the pitch today is it fair to say that Kevin Debruyne is one more assist away from sainthood ?

Got bloody soaked on way back but who cares lol...we won against a very stubborn Burnley team who were unbeaten away from the back woods of Dingle land.
Wasn't a classic game but the conditions were awful and not great for our free flowing football.
Defensively we were very sound and Stones is developing into a classy player and Otta and Delph look very good.
Great to see Kun get his goal.
We missed Raz because we needed to stretch them but all in all it's been a good day.

Many items:

Went to the Etihad, having won tickets from the Citizens part of the OS site, saw Sergio equal the record, watched a very disciplined Burnley work hard, but offer nothing going forward, watched the incredible slick passing of city throughout the game, queued in the rain for tram home. Smiled at United losing.

All in all a good day out.

I might have to grovel to the OS for the winning tickets though!

It would have been 5 again but for these 2nd half failed conversions:
1. Sane should have passed to Jesus who had an open goal.
2. Jesus should have passed to Dave under the same circumstances.
Still I'm delighted we did more than enough to win with some to spare.
Great squad spirit and fight against a physical team.

Anyone else see the old Burnley fan down in 111? Walking about in the second half looking for his seat, he had a black jacket on with the Burnley crest. Stewards moved him away, he then turned the jacket inside out and came back in to continue looking for his seat. Our stewards are utter shite.

There were also two stonewall blocks by Burnley in the first half, both from Bernardo I think that would have had us going in at HT 3-0.

Nah, pen all day long for the attacker. If the keeper comes, he has to get the ball and not the man. You will see that he takes out Bernardo’s right foot/ankle with his own knees on MOTD.

That said, it wasn’t Stoke on a wet and windy Tuesday night, but it was pretty close...and we handily beat a team that should have enjoyed that more than us!

Only 3 goals has killed our average, but it probably should have been closer to 6-0!

Good. Job. Done.
It not a pen all day long defiantly ifcit it went against us we would moan but no comaints
