Burnley (H) Post Match Thread

Last year, against Bournemouth, when de Bruyne played Gundogan to score in with an exquisite pass the co-commentator, Neil McCann, exclaimed "oh what a ball". Today, Tony Gale was moved to say much the same thing. There's something really warming about hearing ex-professionals being so enthusiastic during 'actions', as Pep would describe them. Normally, they bide their time and wait until allowed in by the commentator, but genuine quality seems to move them so. Long may it continue.

Not at our best but a comfortable win.
Biggest thing from this was the attackers weren't on form but despite this and with the awful conditions, the defence was immense again.
Delph quality again
The mark of a successful team is a solid defence and a creative attack. Currently we have both and long may it continue

You could tell in his voice he was admiring and appreciating the quality of our play.

Hard not to really. The third goal was another great team goal from the throw in, flick round the corner by Kun, inch perfect pass from Kev and clinical finish by Sane. Left everyone purring...

Evans and Dawson off with injuries that should ensure they miss next week.

Their main threat from set pieces gone.

Still drying out after the soaking we got walking back to the car!

Good win in difficult conditions. Burnley were quite well organised but didn't threaten going forward at all. Our back 4 and keeper were solid. Stones & Otamendi are looking like a really good partnership now & Delph has done brilliantly since he came into the team. We weren't as slick going forward as we have been recently, but still won 3-0. I didn't realise how good Kev's pass was for Leroy's goal, but watching a replay just now, it was ridiculous! Never felt more like singing the blues!
