Vinny means business

And seems to be enjoying himself....

He's completely changed the club absolutely buzzing
To be fair, that's impressive.

I've watched a bit of Burnley and I've been impressed with their playing style as its the complete opposite of what you would expect from Burnley and the way they've gone about things on the pitch for a number of years before relegation.

They are entertainers in the league. Naturally, I bigged them AND Vinny up on the day me and a few pals watched the Sheffield United game! Still, that appears to have been a blip. Hopefully you come up this season, which looks most likely.

Don't get too giddy, we're having him back soon.
I would love Vinnie - or any of our former superstars - to become our manager/head coach, but he still has a lot to prove that he has what it takes to secure the best job in English club football.

However, if he can achieve promotion with Burnley this season, and not only keep them up, but have them flourish next term, he will put himself in a very good position to succeed Pep, when the great man decides that he’s had enough of M11.

If he can achieve promotion and stay up while staying true to the his football philosophy, it's already a bigger achievement than what Pep had before he got the Barca job imo, especially considering that his squad is made up of inexperienced youngsters and at best average senior pros. Our management had no issues giving Pep the Barca job, why not Kompany at City?

Big question that.

First and foremost, we blues cannot get too giddy. Kompany is doing an amazing job at Burnley but things can change. In managerial terms he is still a rookie with les experience than Solskjaer. And has won less too! He got the job at United for 2 reasons. He was cheap to hire with no compo to pay a club. Secondly, he was a player legend the Glazer's knew would appease most of the fans. It worked out well initially but we all know it soon turned sour.

I loved Kompany as a player and always thought he'd do well in management. However, let's see if he can get Burnley up and keep them up next season playing attractive football.

Ideally, it would be good for him to gain promotion and do well with Burnley next season. By well a comfortable mid table finish with a good cup run will be an achievement i think. The Ideal scenario would be for that to happen and he come to us for a season to work with Pep before taking over. But the club need to be as sure as possible on Kompany's managerial credentials for it to possibly happen.

Fancy these at the swamp next week if they go full strength, which they may not as might not want a cup run getting in the way of the promotion push.
