Burnley

No they dont get in it for the long haul. They take the TV cash and gamble on doing just enough to sustain it coming in. Same thing happened at Swansea which was previously a well run club established in the premier league. Take take take, hope to put the bare minimum in to keep the gravy train running.

this is what i thought ? burnley just don't have the numbers and future gates of around 40.000 would still be not good enough now. unless the rules are changed with FFP with take over investment only the top clubs will remain at the top

yes manchester city got lucky but the numbers and fans and a new stadium was in place. all it needed was the right people running a football club. ok the money helped big time at the start but the football governing body rules lead by the elite had to change them to protect them from manchester city ?

because we was never a small club that some believed or hoped ? even today the media want you to believe city have no fans and play to empty stadiums ? and its the investment from the owners are what keeps us above the rest

manchester city can now stand face to face with the so called elite in fact the elite are so badly run manchester city
need not to worry about them anymore ? because the powers running the game now want a change

look i say good luck to burnley and lets hope they can upset the apple cart and be a major premier league club
i say the better the fight the more you want to be winners ? unlike united and liverpool who don't want to fight for silverware but have it handed to them on a plate

how does the FFP work with burnley ?? one of lowest wage bill in the premier league and turn over losses
and average crowds of 20.000. so how on earth can you turn that into a super club and buying superstars

sounds to me that the yanks have been fooled into thinking burnley are a major premier league club and can be a top 6 club ? i keep saying this to all the other clubs fans wanting a miracle take over forget it ? because manchester city was never a small club just a BIG club being run very badly for 30 years
Don't think they have been fooled mate and I don't think it's a purchase to try and break into the Top 6 or the like (the risk vs reward doesn't really stack up in my head unless I am unaware of some uncorked pot of gold).

Just another firm step in the direction of eradicating relegation to stabilise their and their fellow Americans investments I would imagine...........

i’m from burnley obv & most of my mates are burnley fans i’m happy for them, a well run profitable club with no debt was bound to attract investment sooner rather than later, interesting how much money becomes available for new players? thats where the struggles start how do you sell burnley as an attractive move?!!!

I do wonder if the conventional buisness model including matchday (stadium) revenue even matters now, or do these US venture capitalists just want a premier league place to flog ppv in China etc?

Didn’t Burnley announce at the beginning of covid and the premier being suspended that they could go bust if the premier didn’t restart? If true that says it all they get relegated and they’ll be in deep shit.

Think they did mate yeh, burnleys ambition every season is to finish 4th bottom in prem, will that change with the investment who knows? with money comes added pressure time will tell
