That's just crazy. It's crazy, I have a couple of friends who have been watching Bury together since the age of 13, one took his kids to watch AFC and now they don't talk to one another, I don't know the answer, I know the PA announcer at Bury, he's a top top guy, he seems to think things will be fine and they have beneficiarys waiting to help build a club now Gigg Lane is secure, I know some people have said they are sticking with AFC after all the abuse they have been subjected to but I think that's been on both sides, Ive seen tweets and goading messages from AFC fans saying they are gonna take the ground off them after all the hard work they've put into getting it back etc, it really really is a mess and God bless our owners that we haven't had to go through this because it must be heartbreaking
I think they have gone into it with a plan B if the merge doesn't go ahead, again I'm only going off what has been said and how much is heresay I don't know, apparently they have investors ready but will the FA allow 2 clubs in Bury to exist ie give them a league place, I know the biggest amount of upset comes from the fact they feel AFC abandoned the club too early and didn't help in the slightest in getting back gigg lane, well I'm stuck with friends on both sides and it's going to make a night out pretty shitThat's just crazy.
You'd hope, given that it was literally 25 votes short of the 66% that it won't take much to knock a few heads together. There must be a lot on the BFCSS side that are now disappointed in the failure.
Without extra money, Gigg Land must surely be a money pit that no club at that level could realistically support.
After Bury's recent track record with investors, I think I'd have taken the free money on offer from the council.I think they have gone into it with a plan B if the merge doesn't go ahead, again I'm only going off what has been said and how much is heresay I don't know, apparently they have investors ready but will the FA allow 2 clubs in Bury to exist ie give them a league place, I know the biggest amount of upset comes from the fact they feel AFC abandoned the club too early and didn't help in the slightest in getting back gigg lane, well I'm stuck with friends on both sides and it's going to make a night out pretty shit
Yup that was surely the way forward and with an elected board but would the fella who set up AFC have relinquished control, who knows? Sadly now they have lost out on government grants and council funding, all because one twat of an owner overspent and fucked up peoples love and enjoyment and passionAfter Bury's recent track record with investors, I think I'd have taken the free money on offer from the council.
You could always get them on to the topic of Bolton. Surely that still unites the warring tribes ;)
Fuck that we are the peoples judean front of Bury fc, the AFC Bury front of judea are a bunch of arseholes.I think they have gone into it with a plan B if the merge doesn't go ahead, again I'm only going off what has been said and how much is heresay I don't know, apparently they have investors ready but will the FA allow 2 clubs in Bury to exist ie give them a league place, I know the biggest amount of upset comes from the fact they feel AFC abandoned the club too early and didn't help in the slightest in getting back gigg lane, well I'm stuck with friends on both sides and it's going to make a night out pretty shit

Good newsSeems they’re going to try again and hope to have football back at Gigg Lane next season. Think this is just to unify the fans’ groups then the AFC and FC clubs will merge should they agree. Only a 51% vote needed.

Bang on. 2 clubs basically fighting each other before they take on any footballing opponents will just lead to disaster for both.I wonder if the arse holes who voted no last time have had a bit of time to think. Idiots
My understanding is yes as the funding they were promised to go it alone never materialised.I wonder if the arse holes who voted no last time have had a bit of time to think. Idiots
Biggest tosser winsAnyway they should settle it by having a good old black pudding throwing contest.
Even if they haven't or still wish to vote against it, the vote should pass this time as someone on the last page said 51% of the vote is required.I wonder if the arse holes who voted no last time have had a bit of time to think. Idiots
I would have thought that it is in the interests of all involved to vote "Yes", as it would mean a return of Football to Gigg Lane, albeit at a lower level than when the Shakers last played there.Even if they haven't or still wish to vote against it, the vote should pass this time as someone on the last page said 51% of the vote is required.
Last time each side had to produce a minimum 66% yes vote.
