Business Forum

I have no problem with the principle of this, and those who have posted negatively are clearly never going to be in need of anyone else's services, or help, or indeed, a job one day....so feck orf!!

Other forums I go on have a 'jobs for the girls and boys' and 'yellow pages' type boards, where fellow members can exchange services and indeed, offer work out, however short term or small a job, so i.e. if someone wanted a reliable friendly electrician, they could be sure that it was someone from that community and of course, word of mouth is everything.
As is negative feedback, so in that respect, doing a good job for your fellow board member is also imperative. All part of good business.

Personally, I'm in commercial property finance. Which goes some way to explaining why I can spend a few hours a day on here....ahem!! Of course right now the banking industry is shagged, and should I get made redunant I will be offering my knowledge and services elsewhere, and not looking to stay in the same job, although, there are potentially other openings in the industry I am sure.

Should similar minded people post on here, there is absolutely nothing to lose in doing a bit of 'networking'. I also absolutely detest these 'networking' and 'breakfast' events. I refuse to go to them, as it's usually a load of wankers in suits asking "and what do you do..."
"Oh I'm an assistant manager for xxxx bank"
to which they think: "oh...female...she's just a typist/cleaner"....

better than a lot of ideas for new forums ive seen. also could help local tradesmen advertise for fellow blues with a discounted rate
brilliant idea..any pub landords on here?

I`m well up for this, reckon we should help fellow Blues out by passing work around.
If someone wants to start listing which line of business each member is in then we could
call on that member for our relevant needs and I would be interested in attending any meetings once we have generated some interest.
Did anyone answer the question regarding pub landlords by the way?
I`m in the Drinks Wholesale industry and run my own business.

Regards the drinks wholesale business, have you ever thought of getting the distribution rights to that Blue Moon beer and selling it in to pubs areound Manchester?
Always thought the stadium would stock it in the corporate section, remember blue ketchup?

Cant understand why the idea has been received negatively by some.

I dont have a business but would rather give my hard earned to blues above anyone!

I think its a great idea and im sure bluebiz would welcome the competition ;)

Blue moon beer is shipped in by molson coors mate. I stock a very small quantity because it just doesn`t sell. It was offered to the club but they didn`t want it but I have sold some to
a couple of the pubs around the ground but no one was drinking it.
It`s not a lager but an american wheat beer and doesn`t really suit the english beer
drinkers palate.

I heard about the Blue Moon Beer a few years ago. Would have been a great idea to get it into COMS if the taste suited UK drinkers. Unfortunately I think it tastes awful. Definitely didn't suit my palate. Good idea tho LawrenceofBenarbia. Nice to see people bouncing ideas around already when we don't even have a business forum.....yet.

If you knew anything about online advertising you'd know that the advertising is not done directly with said companies. Crow.

I take it you aren't too interested in a business forum to discuss business issues and to help each other out then?

Or do you own an advertising company & feel threatened by a Business forum? Don't worry, a business forum is more about making contacts, discussing best business practice, networking & helping out fellow blues than it is about advertising.

I would be interested. its called networking and yes it is a struggle at the moment work wise. I'm in building trade btw
