BWSL City vs Aston Villa 21/01 Match Thread

Some very poor performances today right through the team, and as a whole by the team, how can we pass the ball so badly for so long, only Shaw looked up for it.

Pepole have clamouring for Raso to play, she added nothing when she replaced Kelly who was poor. Hasegawa on her own in midfield.

None of the subs added anything, an idea why he took Castellanos off, she at least did seem to have an idea.

Perhaps a week of Gareth Taylor on the training ground sucks the energy out of the team ?

Seems to have that effect on the supporters

Taylor has to go shirley. This could be 3 years without CL qualification. Can we not sack him or is it something we don't do. A team full of internationals will not stay if they can't get CL football; there will be another mass exodus come summer.

Sad, when I think about how we used to play.

I've said it before, but I'm not sure sacking him would make a difference.

There seems to be this holistic approach where the team has to play a certain way, which I can understand from the men's side of the game to allow a pathway into the first team.

But why the women have to play the same way as the men with the constant sideways and backwards passing is beyond belief.

It's all about the "city brand" I think.

We're never going to suddenly hire a manager to play a fast, direct 4-4-2, but you can play 'the City way' and still not be as ponderous and ineffective as we are with Taylor. Basically every other City team seems to manage it while trying to keep to the philosophy. It's not like the women are fundamentally incapable of it.

Exactly. Taylor is the problem and looks incapable of changing .

He needs to be replaced .
