Caicedo

If a donkey scores 7 goals in 12 games irrelevant of the style of the goals then bring on more donkeys to be fair! I don't care what else he does, as long as he puts the ball in the back of the net, he's alright by me but as an additional bonus he exceeds the work rate of the lazy arrogant bastard Sturridge and the goals tally of Bojinov (lee-way given due to return from two serious injuries for now) and ultimately he is our best forward up front, much better than the offside king (Benjani) and Ched 'Run around but not score' Evans.

People complaining when he has a better than a goal every two games ration is ridiculous. His style of play is irrelevant and the fact we've won the last four games his played is a tribute to this.

Amazing. Yet you rate Carroll.
carroll really is untried, he's also also not leading the line for a team trying to qualify for a uefa spot, that said he's better than phil, sorry but true.

Offers a physical presence that no one else can, he DID win headers just no runners off him, he held it up and scored a goal. FFS what more does everyone want from him, he's only 20 and has plenty of talent. We play better with him in the team and he has a good goals to games ratio, get off his back and support him!!

won headers? he can't fucking jump to save his life.

Well I counted on at least two occasions him flicking the ball on and nobody making a run off him. Therefore he may aswell not bother jumping.

He won a few flick ons, of Shay kicks and defended a few corners with his head, even after being pushed. He won more than our defenders in the air today.

If he is untried for Newcastle who are threatened with relegation then doesn't that speak volumes given that crock (Owen) and Martins (doesn't score often) are playing ahead of him?

The aim of each side in particular is irrelevant, we are discussing the standard of each player and drawing comparisons - not the two sides on the whole and both players are not soley responsible for the direction of each club they represent. The only way I could admit that he is better than Big Phil is Andy Carroll actively being here (and this'd happen if Hughes deemed him any better than Big Phil) and getting more than 7 goals in a game. A striker is there to stick the ball in the back of the net at the end of the day. If you want work rate, try Vass but he won't score for you.

If you actually deem Andy Carroll worthy of a summer move to Manchester City make that admission in response to this thread.
