Love him! Yet again, he continues to prove the doubters wrong! Even when he went off, we didn't come any closer to scoring another goal. He has qualities that differ from those of strikers we've got and had for the past 10 years.

Not an orthodox City player, hence the criticism, but definately a favourite of mine, purely because of the amount of times he manages to score when people start to get on his back. A great way to respond to criticism, unlike another young striker who some people believe to better, who refused to celebrate and acknowledge his fans at the end of the game.

Keep goin Big Phil!!!!!!

Exactly right! De niro is digging himself a hole here saying hes not good enough for us, absolute clueless. He's doing his job at the minute isnt he? He's scored some screamers for Ecuador aswell. The lad has potential, look at the size of him at the age of 20. He has the foot work and finish aswell. All it takes is the coaches to make him improve his game in pre-season and in a few years he could be a really classy player. We missed out on RSC did we? Well hes nothing but a crock, and for 20 million you can kiss my ass tbh. Keep it up Big Phil!
i'm not digging a hole, as i say its just opinion, the lad is no good, as for clueless does everyone that has a different opinion to you make them clueless?
dick.

Your opinion is harsh imo. Your saying hes not good enough for us yet hes 20 and hes doing well at the minute. Look at Ireland last season, everyone thought he was shit, and he did bugger all, at least Caicedo's scored and you can see he has talent in him. What am saying is that it takes a few seasons to get into a position were your in a perfect shape for your style of game, this what Phil needs to do. Its embarrassing when people get on players backs tbh, espically when there feckin' scoring!

i think its important we dont get on their backs at the game, on here on though we voice our opinions. i judge him harsh maybe but he's getting a chance of a lifetime and for me he's nowhere near what we are looking for, if only for his non exsistant pace.we are a fair few points missing because of his glaring misses in front of goal, west ham being the most important.

He's adapting to our game alot more now. He's not fast at all, but if the coaches work on him and become a powerful handful for defences he could well be a classy player. Not saying hes deffo going to be great because he still has a long way to go. But he has the potential. He's got the fans torn apart on him, like us here, so its up to him to prove his worth while hes got the chance. It would be stupid to let him go next season aswell, which I dont think we will do.

I cant believe the criticism this Lad is getting. 7 Goals in 12 Games is a great ratio, he does give us something different, he seems to do well at International level ( AS DOES GELSON BY THE WAY --- EVERYBODY'S OTHER FAVOURITE WHIPPING BOY). Some of his finishing is excellent, the Santander goal for one and he has got on the end of tap ins ; a la Goat.

He only got in the squad in December/January basically because he was " Last man standing", and the boy has grabbed his chance. All of this whilst adapting to a new culture and Language in the "pressure Cooker" not only of the Premiership but also the Club with the biggest reputation in English Football for wasting young talent. You all know that list.

.Yes, he is a little slow and could put himself about a bit more and he seems to have a Female perspective of the Off - side Rule, ie; he does not understand it, yet for me he has show more in three months than Sturridge has all season.

Whoever we buy in Summer from Villa, Eto' to Drogba, Crouch or Owen this young man needs to be in our plans short term and Jo or Bojinov need to be the ones out on loan.

Fair do's, 2 years of injury - question, will he genuinly ever recover from two injuries so serious?

By the way Bill, if Phil couldn't play then he wouldn't have became a professional football player and he would not have scored 7 goals in the premier league. Hell, another nine and he would be joint premier league goalscorer!
pmsl.

If you don't have anything good to say on him, then don't say anything.
I hope he becomes the next Goater just so you can eat a nice big piece o' humble pie.

I can't believe the criticism he's getting on here, I really can't believe it. He's far from the finished product but he's a 20 year old in the toughest league in the world and he's doing his job. He's got 7 goals for us this season ffs, that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Who would you rather play? Championship Chad? Sturridge who has no desire to play for us and is always hurt? (where as Felipe seems to genuinely want to-see the goal celebration). Vass, the clinical finisher?

The Boj who everyone seems to think is the Messiah but is yet to score a competitive goal for us and has been hurt for two years? (although i quite like boj and think he is a classy player so that isn't meant as a criticism)

Truth is Caicedo is doing a good job and has bagged a fair amount of goals, including the opener today, and I really don't understand why anybody has a problem with this.

proved again today that he's a burger seller at best.

I'm disappointed, I expect a much wiser response from someone like you Mr. De Niro.

City fans will never learn will they. Instant impact and nothing less will do, the lad's 20 ffs and taken huge strides this season scoring 7 in 12 starts I think. Get a grip.
