Caicedo

he'd have never have got near our first 11 now, were at a far higher level than when he was here

He's 5 times better than Jo who got about 25 appearances last season, so he'd have gotten plenty of chances as our fourth striker (and remember Mancini completely lost faith in Jo halfway through or he might have had more appearances).

But again, my point isn't what we're losing (a good player who could have made it with us but is leaving) but the horrible decision making of someone upstairs who sanctioned the 800k fixed fee on him when even before his previous season he was worth much more than that.
i don't think he is better than Jo (tin hat on but refuse point blank to be a sheep)he's got the touch of a rapist and couldn't control a hard on.
just think, if we keep all these players that 'deserve another chance'and we have weekly threads about....Caceido,Weiss,Onouha(and his blue blood)Michael
Johnson etc, where exactly would they fit in and do you really want to move up a level?

Caicedo would have been great for that 4th striker role. Never the most elegant of strikers but he knew where the back of the net was and needed coaching. To sell him for 1M and then to see him go for 10M is an absolute joke.

so what do you think they'll do now just stick with 3 strikers?
don't you reckon we could buy another striker for that 4th role?
forget Jo,the lad was out of his depth, thats why he was allowed to leave

Caicedo reminds me a bit on drogba, very strong hard to knock off the ball and scores goals. He wasn't given a proper chance to impress at City.I think he should have been kept.
or Paolo Wanchope?
the only thing he has in common with Droghba is his colour

Sorry but you're remembering the Caicedo of 2009. Players improve and he has improved massively. Why do you think teams are willing to pay 10m for him when we're struggling to give away Jo? Caicedo was one of the best strikers in the second best league in the world last season and made Pique look like a fool in Levante vs. Barca. He did a "Tevez at West Ham" job, almost single-handedly keeping a team in the league.

City are bascially gona have 4/5 strikers in their squad this year so they could either include an inform striker who is doing well at the copa america and actually had a decent season in spain and stopped that team getting send down with 12 goals or something if anyone follows there football or 2. hopefully he will continue to impress over the summer and get a high price for him.

what did city pay for him again?
