Calling all Lescott haters

appreciate that post licker - one question for you is how was he percieved pace wise as a couple of times i have looked and thought he was running in treacle?

Only when we ran short of players, but once he paired up with Jags they formed a good partnership that was pretty much invincible, God .... how we are missing him.
Just has to form a bond with whoever is his partner, i think that goes for most new players.

PS ....... Rammy, He is not as slow as he looks.

Can you all calm down please!!

He's played less than 10 games for the club. It's a brand new back four we are putting together, they aren't going to be watertight overnight. Yesterday I thought he was the 2nd best of the back four after Bridge who had an excellent game. Toure looked less comfortable in possesion and worries me more than Lescott (please don't take this as a Toure-out bandwagon I'm trying to get going..I know how easy they start!). He had a good game vs Wigan in my opinion and he got his first goal for the club yesterday. Hopefully this will boost his confidence and he'll go on from there.

And can we please stop about his price tag as well now. So what he cost £24 million, Everton got a good deal, it isn't Lescott's fault is it? Obviously Hughes thinks he's a better bet in the long run than Dunne, so please shut up comparing them as well!

Rant over.

Awaiting the first witty response calling me Joleon!

Well said! We get slagged off by the media enough, we dont need it from our own fans! A bit of constructive criticism is fine but some people on here and just some City fans in general are go so far over the top and slag our own players as if they wear a red shirt with AIG on it!
We should be getting behind our players and giving them the confidence of our support!

I thought over the 90 minutes Lescott was one of our best performers yesterday, he dealt with most situations fairly well, apart from the Dempsy goal! He was much better than Toure (im very usnure about him - but will still be behind him, not slagging him off!)!!

Lescott on top form is an very good player - effective in defense, good in the air, physical and gets a lot of goals for a defender. I still think he was a good buy (fee is irrelevant as it blatantly included a sizeable 'City premium' and prices for defenders were ridiculusly inflated all summer anyway, see Glen Johnson). Only the knee-jerk crew think he's shit. Scored yesterday and he's still getting stick.

How many games does he need to start playing well ? Its not like he's new to the premership. Compare that with Dunney and Vermallen. They've made an immediate impact and so should Lescott, frankly I expect alot better by now. Sorry for being so harsh but thats how I feel.

Toure isn't fully fit at the moment. Didn't put a foot wrong when he was.

Joleon will become one of those players, we've had dozens, who only get the acclaim half-way through their time with the club. Believe it not, Alan Oakes used to get a bit of stick! Another goal pretty soon, Joleoninho and it will shut up the doubters.

My god,you must be as old as i'am,if you remember the early days of alan oakes,if lescott turns out any thing like oakes, we will do just fine.

Licker, have you ever actually watched an Everton match? Big Fish in small pond? I think you are trying to kiss some ass on here.

LOL x 100.

Just because he's not on here giving it the big I am about your fucking no mark has been football club, and is honest enough to accept that Lescott was a top top player in a squad which was otherwise full of average, injury prone, journeymen, you call him an arse kisser.

Pure comedy gold.
