Callum Doyle

Sunderland lost 1-0 with a controversial off side decision ruling out an equaliser.

Doyle seems to have done ok,but was a bit sloppy in possession and with a couple of passes that put his team in trouble.

Looks like Doyle, Bazunu and Trafford are all doing well in League One. Hopefully things pick up soon for Knight and Fiorini.

He’s a frightening talent
When he transitioned to our U23 from the U18 team, it looked utterly seamless for him. At that point, I really sat up to take notice. Some players just have it where they just rise to the challenge and the game looks effortless; I think he may be one of those players and time will tell.

from twitter ... Doyle came on with 15 mins to go or so ...

"What a night for Aiden O'Brien a hat-trick for Sunderland, 3-2 for the Black Cats. Jack Diamond did so well in the build up to that goal and Callum Doyle made up for his error leading to Blackpool's late equaliser he started the move off."
"
Doyle's error is probably in the highlights if you run across them, bad outlet pass.

Yeah but a minute later he tried the tough pass again and it led to the winner

young players make mistakes but he appears mentally tough enough to shrug it off and go again

He very much is,it will be water off a ducks back.....he has that steely core and focus, coupled with great composure,a very rare mix in a 17yr old.

While nothing is guaranteed, this kid has the attributes and determination to go to the top.

Nothing more challenging than Akinfrnewa. He come on, Doyle lost a couple battles but recovered. 17 year old against a seasoned pro who’s built like a brick shithouse

From ALS

One of the lowest marks of the day and seems a bit contradictory in terms of the comment......

CALLUM DOYLE (6/10): Good on the ball and got forward at times to support McGeady. Put a few decent balls into the box that came to nothing. Looked assured defensively, particularly in the first half.

He played a beautiful cross field ball about 50 yards to Gooch chest in the second half. Reading that review, surely it’s at least a 7
