Callum Doyle

This is a fantastic loan for Callum, given we rarely have success with such.....i thought that was worth highlighting.

Whether he can make it with us i'm not sure, but he will be a top player for definite. In every respect,he is still growing!
Hope they go up and leave him there for another season
Two year loan anyway wasnt it?
There is some confusion around that, initially reported as two years but then revised down to one season. Perhaps linked to age-related salary clauses at City and SFC’s ability to pay if they didn’t go up

1+1 deal maybe? Review at end of year 1
Yep, really successful loan and no reason whatsoever not to send more lads their way next season, wherever SAFC end up.
They learn to play with the pressure and expectation of a big crowd in games that matter, and against parked buses.
Sunderland, Celtic, Rangers, maybe Newcastle if they go down. All good learning experiences for our lads

Another season on loan at Sunderland would make sense if they go up. If not thenwe should be looking to place him at a Championship club where he is likely to be first choice.

Re. Roberts I am not sure if his loan is a good move for Sunderland given that he has not done anything in recent loans. Tommy Doyle might have been a better option for them if they wanting a player to create chances.

Great post until you mentioned the mags!!!!

I’m fine with this, but I am torn between this and seeing him integrated into the first team squad. This lad has a high ceiling.

The fact he is a left footed centre back as well makes him a valuable asset, as there are not many top left footers at Centre back in football in general.
