He could have saved her the hassle and admitted he was lying before they got married. Or before they had one kid. Or before they had another.

It's pretty harsh to take a woman's entire life and use it solely as your beard so no one knows you're gay.

I can understand a gay fella not wanting to spread the news as society can be cruel but that's no excuse for stringing someone along for a lifetime or creating children born of bullshit and deceit.

Not to mention the killer blow of knowing your loved one can never ever really be sexually attracted to you.

He fucked up and if her walking away shows anything its that she's got too much dignity to carry on being a beard.

Sisters unite!

I somehow don't think it is that straight forward.

When my mate announced he was a woman I had the opportunity to talk with her and because of my position in the charity, many people were asking questions through me.

She 'knew' from the age of 6 but pressures of being a 'boy' pushed her into a certain life. She was an off road instructor, many years in the army and typical manly stuff.

I suspect there are lots of reasons why this bloke has kept it a secret and has probably been hurting with the lie he was living.

I, you and probably very few on the site can have any real empathy for Ammy's mate or her husband. Hence my offer.

I get that it's not easy but you don't need to go as far as marriage and kids to hide your sexuality.

If you wish to keep it to yourself then that's absolutely fine but why ruin others lives in the process of protecting your own?

You can pretend to be straight without going quite so far.

I suspect there are many many people who are in a lie of a marriage for any number of reasons.

It might be that he is a git and just wants to use her, it might be that his life has been a living hell and keeping it secret any longer would cause more problems.

we just don't know with the information we have been given, hence my reluctance to jump to the "get rid of him" stance.

-- Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:04 pm --

don't you have some deer to cull?

Is that a euphamism?

ha ha, it was not meant to be but he does like to shoot furry things!

Being in a marriage where your husband wants your permission to have sex with other people doesn't sound that much fun to me. Forget that he's gay for a minute, he just wants the best of both worlds. All she needs to get round her head is that he isn't sexually attracted to her anymore, it's quite a bombshell but seriously that isn't a marriage and most couples would get divorced if there was no longer an attraction. Stay friends if she wants but she needs to realise its over.

You two have lost me?

You'll never want to give him another blowjob again that's for sure.

Or hold his hand.

Sorry bud. I heard on the news that 750K of deer need to be culled in the UK and know that you like the hunting.

And then I confused things by suggesting, in a rather infantile manner, that "culling deer" could be another way of saying......

I'll got to bed now. Apologies.

Sexist

FFS.
Is this still going on?

She needs to get out and take her children with her and the bloke needs to decide which way he turns.

It's ok just lost me a bit, I don't do culling and I don't shoot, it has its place but not for me
