Hi all, Matt here from the Endemol team making the City documentary. We have seom brilliant fans taking part and we've been lucky with the matches we've filmed so far (Arsenal and Chelsea matches look brilliant) and we're going to be filming in the south stand again for the match against Utd. But alongside filming from this season, to give it all some context we're featuring archive matches from City's past. The 5 historical areas we are concentrating on are:
1976 - the 2-1 win against Newcastle and City's last trophy so far.
1981 - City's last appearance at Wembley and the 2 matches against Spurs.
1998 - The relegation to 3rd tier of English football
1999 - The play off final against Gillingham
2008 - The Sheik and the Abu Dhabi group's takeover of City.
We are still looking for people who might fancy taking part in the documentary, talking about their memories/recollections of these matches/seasons. The more vivid and detailed the better (what your journey to/from Wembley was like in 1976, what the last match of 1998 season was like, how you felt when you first heard about the Abu Dhabi takeoever etc..) Quirky, funny and entertaining stories from these 5 areas are very much welcomed. If you could email them to
matthew.mccann@endemoluk.com that would be fantastic. Here's to a very successful second half of the season for City, cheers, Matt
