Can Anyone Explain the last 10 Minutes Tactics?

The free kick in the corner was stupid to be fair, no idea why that was played into the box.

Game management.

If we overcommitted then we could've been caught on the counter. Burnley players had ran hard all day and were starting to back off a bit, not closing us down. So we took advantage of that by playing keep ball.

Only a few gripes, Gundogan lumping a free kick straight back to them, rather than playing the short pass. And Bernardo underhit a couple of clearances. It wasn't pretty, but we matched them and took the 3 points. Come on you blue boys!

This. We purposfully stopped so as to not break our defensive formation. Playing the percentages it may b, but it has worked so far.
It’s become a big part of our armoury particularly this season where we seem to be going through the run in on 1 and 2 nils. We are damn good at it, frustrating teams who might just look to be getting a head of steam going late in games.

There were goals easily available in that game if we’d needed to go for it.

It was called keep the ball, not lose it and give them a chance to fall over and win a free kick. They didn’t really press us so we could just pass it around and keep the ball for longer. Worked a treat, three games against Burnley, no shots on target in all three

I don't think we needed to make any changes when we were all over Burnley at the time of our goal but credit to GJ and Stones who were both excellent when they came on.
