From what I have seen from some of the highlights this lad seems special and reminds me very much of Tevez, does anyone think he could make some first team appearances?

I still think he needs to develop more physically but giving him ten minutes or so in the league and 90 mins in a cup game would be great to see if he can make the step up.

I would love nothing more than one of our youngsters coming through to the first team and this lad looks like he could do that.

Loans are useless if you ask me as youngsters for me thrive in environments they are used to, if Marcos trains with the City lads week in week out then I don't see many confidence issue with everyone trying to help him out.

Loans can create hostility for youngsters in my opinion and is the reason why a lot of loans fail.

Hopefully we can see him against Wigan.

Hes too young for me at the minute no need to rush him. But like you say 10 minutes here and there in LC and FA cup will do him great

Don't agree he isn't ready physically - he stood out as looking like a man when he went to Austria on pre season with the first team (15 at the time I think).

Would be nice to see him get some serious time on Tuesday although won't get a start with so many attacking players to choose from already

The Barcelona philosophy is that players should be playing together from a young age and then when they're promoted to the first team together, they already know each other's games inside out. You can't achieve that if all of the youth players are at different loan clubs. Of course Spanish teams have the advantage of being able to play their B teams in a proper league.

I'd be very, very surprised if he didn't start the game on Tuesday.

The likes of Milner, Rodwell, and whoever doesn't play out of navas, silva, nasri on sunday to play.

But there's plenty of spaces up for grabs.

Kompany definitely won't play. Richards may get a start.

Potential team:

Pant
Richards Garcia Lescott Kolarov
Navas Milner Rodwell Lopes
Negredo Jovetic

on a presumption of the following for sunday:

hart
zab komp nast kolarov
silva yaya fernan nasri
aguero dzeko

Maybe he can be our isco, pellegrini certainly got the best out of him at malaga.

Maybe manuel is the man to develop marcos into a world class player. He seems to have a raw talent that just needs fine tuning and pellegrini might be the right manager to do that.

I agree mate.

Loans in my opinion are a complete waste of time for youngsters as their confidence just goes to pot because they are out of their comfort zones, people have to remember that youngsters are not emotionally mature and still need the comfort of having someone to hold their hand so to speak, or be around the people he is used to seeing on a daily basis.

Marcos is no doubt training with the senior lads and I would be imagining that some of them will be helping him out, that will give him confidence and it is the reason why that if he is doing well training with them it is up to us to take the risk and give him some playing time.

Big teams seem to refuse to take the risk of playing their kids, it's up to us to to give him that chance and see how he performs, who knows he could be a revelation.

This lad is our youngest ever goalscorer is he not? Scoring against Watford.

Lopes won't start. There are enough players who will need a start, something like

Pantilimon
Richards
Boyata (needs to play a game, if he doesn't start this he will never play for us again)
Lescott
Clichy
Garcia
Rodwell
Milner
Nasri/Silva (whoever doesn't start on Sunday)
Jovetic
Negredo/Dzeko (whoever doesn't start on Sunday)

It would be a complete waste If boyata plays. it's common knowledge the guy is shit. Why play a near 23 year-old who has not proved himself good enough since his debut 4 years ago when you can blood a youngster with a genuine chance of coming good.

loony bin!

I hope Lopes plays a part though.

If we don't see youngsters coming through in cup games the whole holistic approach mentioned when Mancini got the sack is going to make us looks an embarrassment.
