I realise that some fans may not consider the League Cup important but not the 30,000 that will be there on Tuesday night!

Winning games breeds confidence, give players gametime and will keep the hacks at bay.

Additionally, given the chance of ending the season empty handed or with the League Cup then I'll take the League Cup thanks!

I will be there on Tuesday. It is not important.

I think we will play a few kids on Tuesday as I don't see Wigan playing a full side with them having the Championship to get out of and the Europa League to contend with.

We can play the players who don't play on Sunday along with the likes of Lopes to try and impress Pellegrini to get him thinking about including them in some possible league games.

Exactly.

And to get it back on point, it would be idiotic, futile, shambolic, farcical to play Boyata rather than someone like Lopes.

Lopes scored on his debut against Watford in a cup game last year correct? He should absolutely get a run of cup games and quality minutes in the league. Schalke is a Champions League team who fields very talented youngsters in their squad which are names starting to buzz worldwide and it all started by playing them young. I understand the pressure of winning the league and other trophies but we gotta start somewhere with the quality talent we have within our own ranks or will have more Denis Suarez type situations or forbid we lose someone like Pogba at United.

Wigan on Tuesday is a game made for both Marcos Lopes and Sinan Bytyqi.

Maybe a few others too, such as Huws,Cole,Hiwula or Leigh.

I'd certainly like a few on the bench.

It would be a complete waste If boyata plays. it's common knowledge the guy is shit. Why play a near 23 year-old who has not proved himself good enough since his debut 4 years ago when you can blood a youngster with a genuine chance of coming good.

loony bin!

well which youngster can we play in central defence on Tuesday who is ready? Boyata played well against Bayern and will be at the club for the next few months at least. This game will be make or break for him

You play Garcia at centre back. Simple.

Thought Boyata was pretty shit in the Bayern game and it was only a preseason friendly so he got off lightly. He won't make it. You're deluded, thick whatever adjective you like, if you think he will.

can't really take anyone who WANTS garcia to play centre back seriously.

And you can fuck off with your 'thick' jibes

Friendlies are completely unimportant. However, every competitive game is important. The FL Cup is one of them. It may not be as important as other competitive games but the FL Cup is still important even to United and with us having only won 2 trophies in 37 years it is important to us as a club and me as a fan too.

is he left footed?

is he quick?
Do you know, i've watched him around five or six times and i don't remember which foot is his favoured. Maybe that's a good sign.

He's quick in the way Kun and Tevez are quick - close control and strength with a low centre of gravity means he can run with the ball at a reasonable pace but beat the taller and more clumsy defenders on the pitch due to the attributes that make him look quick.
