Can the wounded animal beat PSG?

Anything can happen in a cup competition. It's quite often fine margins that settle things & it could go down to a slice of luck. The best teams do not always win the competition, as Chelsea showed. We could go though. Having said that, this group of player we have, don't seem to bounce back from anything, so not sure about the wounded animal thing. I think we thought they would bounce back after the first drubbing of the season & have some pride but the defeats have kept coming. It's not getting beat that bothers me, it's the way the team just seem to fold like a warm Mars bar when it gets a bit difficult. We have been battered in both league games by an average Liverpool side, Stoke, Spurs & Leicester. Put in one of the worst derby performances I can remember, against the worst rags team I can remember in the last 30 years. And took virtually no points from any of the top 8 in the league. That shows the wounded animal thing is a load of shite, most of our players don't give a shit.

There's three big differences though.

Chelsea knew that they were by far the lesser squad as compared to Barca and then Bayern.

Difference 1.
Chelsea parked the bus and hit only on the counter, giving themselves the best possible chance - albeit slight.

We won't park it against better sides (PSG is better than we are given our injuries and not to mention our lack of enthusiasm).

Difference 2.
Chelsea were good at defending. Moreso when they parked it.

We are awful at defending this year.

Difference 3.
Chelsea were up for it. Motivated and totally wanted to win.

We couldn't seem to care one way or the other.

So yeah, a miracle could occur, and we could advance... but if we do so somehow it'll be nothing like the way Chelsea did it and, IMO, a lot more unexpected.

I agree with all of that and don't expect us to win. As per the second half of my post, I don't think most of the players are that up for it and they have showed barely any desire this season to bounce back from anything. It could all be part of Pellers masterplan, to lull PSG into a false sense of security, by making it look like the team are not arsed all season, before leaping into action & shocking everyone. Here's hoping!

Pellegrini doesn't do " masterplans " - he's never worked for Carling !

I've decided we can do it, all depends on the first leg... if we can be solid defensively the longer that game goes 0-0 at their place the more desperate and open they will get for us to pick off. They wont want to come to ours needing to score after failing at home as that again plays into our hands.

I would like to try the drink you appear to have stumbled upon because it is obviously very strong .

The words " solid " and " defensively " don't ever appear in a Pellegrini team talk.

City become rich club in 2008

PSG become rich club in 2011

We should be better than them since the take over happened 3 years before PSG's and we play in better league.
