Can we have a poll on Dzeko....?

I would see and try to get Cavani but that is me!

Workrate would never be a problem with him, to use his own words, "We always try to leave our souls on the field."
But I think we're asking for SOME things from Dzeko that he shouldn't have to do, as I said in my other post in this thread I think we should be using him as a fox in the box but that means more crosses and decisive passes.

Look at Wigan and Liverpool. Two great crosses, one in each game, and Dzeko got on the end of both.

....was that not the FA? - or did they say "we always try to leave arseholes on the field"......

Maybe, but other than those 2 goals, what has he done in the last 3 games apart from get in the way of Aguero!! He is not a world class striker for me.This isnt a dzeko bashing session this is just an opinion of a potential area we could improve

What is the area Dzeko could improve "besides scoring goals" which strikers are paid to do ?? Imo he could be more aggressive.

Do I really need to answer that? Ok...Workrate-shite,strolls around like it's a Sunday afternoon in the park,Agression-he is soft as shit to be honest for a big lad.Touch-First touch of a rapist..WAY TO HEAVY AND CLOSE CONTROL IS SHOCKING.

he's paid to score goals, he's only played three times lately due to injury and scored twice.

not bad if you ask me.

This is the crux of the division of opinion amongst blues.

Some will say that he scores goals, what more do you want from a striker?

Others will argue that although he can score, he has put in some woeful performances and cannot perform consistently.

Hes a striker who scores goals, 15 so far in all comps and we are only half way through the season.. if he scores a goal a game for the rest of the seaon some on here will still moan that apart from scoring he does fuck all..
Yes if, like last night, we need a striker to hold the fucking ball up to allow the midfield to gain a foothold when we are under the cosh.

Some people have a very simplistic view of football if they think a striker should only be able to score goals. All our strikers can do that, why do you think Mancini issued a 2 or 3 minute bollocking to him with 15 minutes to go when a Liverpool player was getting treatment. He wasn't working hard enough.

No, we needed midfield to hold the fucking ball and bring it to strikers as that's their fucking job

Funnily enough, it's a team game and sometimes strikers have to do some fucking work. Look at Tevez. Look at Aguero. Look at Drogba and Henry who between them have been the best example of forward play in the last decade. They worked their bollocks off for the cause. They didn't "just get in on the end of crosses as that's their job".

As I say, Mancini bollocked him for long enough for this very reason.

Had an arguement with my dad last night about Dzeko.

When he signed i expected goals and that is it, it is also what he has delivered.
My dad meanwhile has the expectation he will fight every ball, hold the ball up, control the ball to a tee etc.

I doubt you can be objective about anything Dzeko related. Yes, when he plays very good match you know you can't shit all over him as it would be too obvious but when score isn't good and Dzeko didn't play messish game, than there's no doubt who you're going to blame for it. Just what you and bunch of others are doing for last night game when our attack was the smallest problem in our overall game and Dzeko scored a goal that almost sent us (or better say - you, who were at York) on Wembley. It's still Dzeko who gets his usual thread and not tons of others who did less than him.

I don't give a damn about your "I'm City fan" response, it stopped being interesting and lost it's point lot time ago. You can use it with some 5-posts Bosnian fans but not on me.

Dzeko works his bollocks for what is his part of the job and that is a target forward. He is doing it more than most of those actually does providing balls like one to AJ in almost every game he plays. He is not Aguero and he'll never be Aguero and was never bought to be Aguero.

Is he playing great football at the moment ? Absolutely not, he can play much better.

Is he playing as shitty football as some of you are saying all the time and is he the main one to blame whenever things are not good at the scoreboard ? Absolutely not and it's pathetic to read it all the time from same lot.

Talking out of your arse as usual.

You couldn't be objective if you tried as he is your hero. Why do you think I cannot be objective though?

Another thing, unlike you, I am a City fan, that is kinda important. I only care about City and have absolutely no time for your political crap about Dzeko being the hero of your new and proud nation.

If you don't like seeing criticsm of your idol, don't post on a forum for genuine City fans. Make your own Dzeko one and have a huge circle jerk whilst being blind to any of his weaknesses.

I ask again, if Mancini didn't feel the same as the majority posting on this thread, then why did he give him a bollocking for not trying hard enough? Why has Mancini said many times that a striker needs to do more than score goals?

-- Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:56 pm --

Try and catch him live sometime and see his lack of workrate. Something you can't see whilt watching on the TV.

Maybe we need another Aguero then and he can go and play target man elsewhere.
