Can we have a poll on Dzeko....?

i really rate him

he shouldnt have been dropped when he was scoring though
HE WAS RESTED FOR TWO DAYS TO KEEP HIM FRESH FOR NAPOLI!!!

I wish people would stop repeating this myth that he was dropped.

Rather have Dzeko than Torres ,Carrol,Hernandez,Defoe,Zamora...

Etc Etc... The goal last night shows his strengths as the goal against wigan, we simply dont play enough to his strengths..Dzeko is not a tippy tappy in the box forward hes a get on the end of sommat type player.

What the fuck is it with people on here.. hes 6 th top scorer on 11 only 3 behind Sergio aguero 14 ( this doesnt take into account 3 Carling cup goals )

So he has mostly bad days of late, but come on !! get rid of someone not on form whos scored 14 goals ??

Torres and Carroll aint on form and have scored hardly owt between em,in fact theyre not in the top bleedin 50 goalscorers this season..

Rant over.. ta !! :)

I am not going to criticise Dzeko because at least he was available for us.

Balotelli who yet again lets us down gets lorded on here like some fcking hero despite constantly letting us and himself down!

You know what, I was looking at a response to Dzekos not good enough or as much as I like him I..... or.....etc etc

But then I read this and thought 'Yup, as much as I like Balo and think hes better than Dzeko. At least Dzeko isnt stupid enough to get himself constantly tangled up in a mess and then not be available to us'.

Mario and Silva are my fave players. I have a home shirt with Merlin 21 on it and an away shirt with Super Mario 45 on it. So im not a Mario hater by any stretch but - again, we needed him and he wasnt there.
At least Dzeko was.

He has scored 15 goals this season, not many strikers in the world who could do better than that.

Dzeko is a confidence player when his confidence is high he looks worldclass, when its low well not so much.

People on her always turn on players when we lose right now it seems to be Dzeko (a player who in his last three games have scored two and made an assisist) next week it may be Silva or Kompany, people are just not use to be in contention for the title.

Hoprfully when we have won it once or twice all of the girls blouses on here will stop panicking everytime we lose a game.

Edin is a great player and we are lucky to have him.

His last 3 games 1 assist and 2 goals. His form is creeping back but I fear Mancini is losing patience which is a little unfair.

I understand the sentiment here, but if i had a choice I would take Torres in a heartbeat. I really think he would flourish at City in our team who could play to his strentghs. imagine the through balls he would run onto from Merlin (in the same way he did at Liverpool from Saint Stephen!) He's just with the wrong team at the moment...IMHO of course.

No back to thread, playing Dzeko as a lone striker isnt working and last night against 2 decent, strong, ball winning CH's he had no chance in a solo roll, he needed Aguero on to create the space and pull the 2 CH's out of position more.....but look at his goals to games ratio, which is the yardstick for any striker!

I agree with this. His first touch is extremely heavy and any ball played quickly too him tends to bounce off him three or four yards rather than him taking the pace off the ball with his first touch. But he can hit a ball very sweetly both for scoring goals and for passing to other players like last night to Johnson and also in the Arsenal game. So I would keep him and play to his strengths not expect him to be a supersize version of Aguero

Dzeko is absolutely brilliant at getting on the end of crosses and scoring goals but unfortunately we don't have anyone who consistantly delivers quality into the box, other than Nasri. We just need an old fashioned winger (as a squad player/different option when Silva & Nasri aren't getting space through the middle) to provide width and genuine quality crosses into the right areas. AJ is great when his confidence is up and he's running at players but he doesn't get crosses into the box. Looks how many chances the scum create with Valencia and Nani just whipping over crosses constantly, Dzeko would score 30/40 goals a season with service like that. We play a different style and I think Silva and Nasri are a million times better than those two but we do need that different option. Dzeko certainly needs to work on his first touch and integration into the quick passing moves but that's not his natural game, like Aguero's natural game isn't a towering back post header but you have to work on your weaknesses to make you a better player.

Only this! It would be great for City players to cross a bit more; City's attacking would become more unpredictable.
