Agree with the OP on this....and coure 'we' can't stop people singing it, you'll sing what you want an all that, but it does make us, as a set of supporters look stupid now, cos we obviously can't score when we want of late...

Great against the rags in the 6-1, but should have ended there too. imvho o' course.

I don't mind it if we're a few in front, it serves two purposes, takes the mick out of that stupid rag song, and shows we can score for free (well we could at one point), but at 1-0, or 1 up in a tight game, its a daft song to sing really.

At the final whistle last night, as the players were applauding the fans, well the few that bothered, I tried to get "We're Man City, we're top of the league" going, a few joined in briefly but not many. It would have been perfect as the scousers celebrated, especially for TV, but more especially for our players, I'm sure it would have given them the perfect boost after going out. I was as gutted as the next person at going out, but we still have much to enjoy, so lets show football that we can enjoy what we have.

That would of been good to sing at the end, but the only problem about that song is that it doesn't have reference to united in it.

It was initially sung out of this because of the arrogance it displayed from United fans.

The joke is on City fans who have continued to sing it since the 6-1 game.

Same lot who believe 'we'll buy your club, and we'll burn it down' is anything but cringeworthy and an insult to where City have been as a club for so long.

Totally agree - didn't we have people posting on here after Stoke saying we should sing the "let's all do the throw" in song every week.
I don't think they were taking the piss either.

We have had some witty chants this season incl 'we'll score when we want'
My feeling is that BITD they would have been sung once or twice and then dropped but for whatever reason they get dragged on and on now.

Was ace at Wolves and everyone was chuckling - maybe once or twice more after that but surely that's enough.......

You don't remember "you're my Alan Ball" to the tune of Wonderwall then?

Yes I do and actually while it was related to the worst manager we've ever had the tune itself was brilliant. Whenever I hear the tune today i still sing that line.

With respects to the score when we want chant, its a bit too far to call fans rags but you have to agree when it backfires which it has lately it makes us complete tools in front of millions.
