Can we still make it???

If anyone does think we will win the league then I suggest you put some money on it. William Hill have us 50-1. I put a tenner on last night after the match seeing as at the beginning of March I put a tenner on us at 14-1.

Yep most likely a waste of £20, but I do owe William Hill for giving me back my £500 when Danny Boyle turned down (apparently) his knighthood. I expected to have to fight for it but they gave it me back very quickly and with not trouble. Not that I care if City help me take it back off them. Took plenty off me over the years.

-- Tue Apr 09, 2013 8:39 pm --

Won't happen but I think the lead will be cut to 5/6 points by end of season.

This is what my head says, unfortunately my betting follows my heart.

City can get a maximum of 86 points and our form will carry us to 7 straight wins which will overtake their goal difference advantage. Rags need 10 more points to make it impossible for us to catch them (87pts).

Rags play Stoke away at the weekend and draw. 1 point. No surprise!

West Ham play some great stuff and beat them. Can be done!

Rags beat Villa. 3pts. Predictable

Rags only get apoint out of the Arsenal and Chelsea games. Quite realistic!

Rags beat Swansea. 3pts.

WBA get a surprise draw. 1point

I make that 9 points from their last 7 games and we win again on goal difference.

Amazing what a derby win will do for the spirits. Love your optimism but mate do you think Chelase gonna catch us? No! And they only 7 points adrift....BUT...to think some rags are secretly thinking like you gives me a nice glow.

Take your point about Chelsea, but we are a team in the ascendancy and I firmly believe we'll win our remaining games. United's form has disappeared at a critical time for them, and it is this factor that gives me hope. The football gods are not done with this season just yet.

I put £2 on City beating United and doing the double.

I also put money on City beating United and winning the FA Cup, drawing with United and winning the FA Cup, Chelsea winning the FA Cup and Wigan winning the FA Cup. Crazy I know, but now (and was there ever any doubt we'd not lose to United), as long as Millwall don't win the FA Cup I'll come out a few quid up and, if we do the double, something like £1,100 to the good (80/1 to win the PL at William Hill, placed last Saturday). A once in 80 years chance for United to fail from 15 points up just seemed too good to pass up.

United have lost three recent games to Real Madrid , Chelsea and City ....... all extremely good sides.

They will get back on track , and they will get the three wins they need to see us off.

As i was walking out the ground last night, i was amazed to hear lots and lots of rags talking about it possibly not all being over... One kept mentioning to his mate how we've apparently got a piss easy run in where as united supposedly have a much harder one...

OK it's a bloody long shot that we can do it again, but isn't it great to think that a few weeks ago and until kick off yesterday that they were all going on about how it's been wrapped up and its number 20 and all that shit - just good fun to see them doubt it a little

I like it!

I'm not sure about the double, but then I'm still hurting that I never put a bet on before things turned round last season. When it was 8 points my heart said yes but my head said no. A few quid can do no harm!

Good luck!

It is just possible. Come on Stoke! Playing for their lives, but then I thought Sunderland would and they just laid down and died.

If Utd draw at Stoke, panic will set in, and then anything is possible

They are in their worst form of the season at the crucial time. Out of the Champions League, out of the FA Cup and beaten by City in their moment.

Nobody should be surprised about the quality of Dortmund ..... i said when we exited our CL group that either they or Real Madrid would win the competition , and i still stand by that

...... it will take a very good side to knock either club out.

I want to believe because personally, I feel that while they have not been playing great lately, they have also still been lucky, they really are due some bad luck this season :)

Not sure if I could handle such a finish after last season

MUEN scenario that would allow City to retain their crown.

APRIL 14 - Stoke v Man Utd. United have a good record at the Britannia but were held to a draw in the corresponding fixture last year. Against opposition like this, the Stoke fans will finally get behind their team and help them earn a share of the spoils. UNITED 78 PTS. CITY 65.

APRIL 17 - Man City v Wigan, West Ham v Man Utd. Against opponents not as equipped to back up from an FA Cup semi-final as they are, City cruise home. United meanwhile find it difficult to break the Hammers down and are held again, just as they were in the FA Cup earlier this season. UNITED 79 PTS. CITY 68.

couldn't wipe off the smile off my face while I was reading this. lets keep fingers crossed

APRIL 21/22 - Tottenham v Man City, Man Utd v Aston Villa. Sensing blood, City go for the jugular against a Tottenham side whose form has deserted them. Twenty-four hours after a Blues triumph, United match them at Old Trafford. UNITED 82 PTS. CITY 71.

APRIL 27/28 - Man City v West Ham, Arsenal v Man Utd. City really have the bit between their teeth now and are far too good for the Hammers, who have not been that impressive on the road. With Champions League qualification Arsenal exploit United's growing nerves and win at the Emirates. UNITED 82 PTS. CITY 74.

MAY 4 - Man Utd v Chelsea, Swansea v Man City. Disaster strikes for Ferguson as he is outwitted by old adversary Rafael Benitez at Old Trafford. With City coasting past a Swansea side whose minds have drifted towards holidays, suddenly the battle is on. UNITED 82 PTS. CITY 77.

MAY 8 (TBC) - Man City v West Brom. A game still to be rearranged from FA Cup semi-final weekend goes the way of the favourites. UNITED 82 PTS. CITY 80.

MAY 12 - Man Utd v Swansea, Reading v Man City. The nerves are taking hold now. Both clubs record victories to set up another super Sunday title epic. UNITED 82 POINTS. CITY 80.

MAY 19 - Man City v Norwich, West Brom v Man Utd. City avoid the near catastrophe of last season to cruise past Norwich, racking up a tally that tilts the goal difference in their favour. As news filters through, United are paralysed by fear, fail to get the win they need and lose out by an even more slender margin than last season. UNITED 83 POINTS. CITY 83. (CITY WIN TITLE ON GOAL DIFFERENCE).

lol

Win at Stoke and it's theirs.

Lose and it's panic time in London, Kent, Milton Keynes, Cornwall, Somerset, Kuala Lumpur, North Pole..........and PruneHead's house.

Come on the Potters!

it could happen, if stoke do em at the weekend then it is a possibility. They need to play teams who are still fighting for something, stoke away, they need to get at least 1 or 2 more wins, Villa need wins, chavski and arsenal need champions league, west ham still need a win and were only just denied a in against them in the fa cup and west brom are still a dificult team to beat, it is highly unlikely but just maybe!

Anyone seen Stoke lately? A far cry from the team who looked unbeatable at home against top 4 sides. United will grind a win there.

If they don't win it it will be the biggest calamity ever, not sure how the press would report such a monumental fuck up but we must keep winning ............ you never know!!!!!!
