Can we win the title this season?

On paper an XI and now a bench that shits on all our domestic rivals.

We also look a better balanced outfit than Barca who heavily rely on their front 3. Madrid still look to have the best XI although if you take Ronaldo out of the equation the gap is slim.

Whether this amounts to us winning the PL depends really on whether the style of play Pep has in mind trumps the conservative approach of Conte and the physical approach of Mourino.
 
Can? We SHOULD be winning the title with the squad we have. Txiki & the board have finally backed our manager after years of stinginess & poor buys.

We have the best first team & squad in the country by a distance. And in Europe you could argue only Madrid are superior than us.

I expect the PL, either the League/FA Cup & a very deep run in the Champions League (Semis/Final).
 
With our current squad then no we cannot win the league.

We have improved without a doubt both in attack and defence. Walker and Mendy will give us so much more. If Danilo turns out to be a DM option then maybe we can but I think our squad needed a much bigger overhaul. Fernandinho and Yaya do not have the legs for the big games. Gundogan is a class act but needs a DM beside him. We still need another centre back unless we keep Mangala.

Chelsea have lost Costa/Matic/Terry (loads of experience) for an unproven trio of Morata/Bakayoko/Rudiger. Liverpool have only brought in Salah & a backup leftback. Arsenal aren't a threat. Tottenham have signed no one & the rags have spent £95m on the Belgian Heskey.

The League title should be the minimum this season.

Stinginess?

I mean we've only spent £560mil in the last 3 years I guess
 
Of course we can win the league, but it's not a given that we will, in the way some are suggesting. There are still weaknesses in the squad that need to be addressed, and it's a fiercely competitive league with five other very strong sides. I'd strongly fancy us if we got Sanchez though.

We've also lost loads of experience and brought in unproven(in this league) players and we have a 15 points deficit to make up.. Don't get cocky or just put a massive bet on if you're that confident.

It's pretty finely balanced. Until Chelsea bought Morata, they looked considerably weaker than last season, only strengthening their strongest point, CB. One signing and they look pretty good, now Batshuayi is looking like the player they bought too.

Liverpool don't seem to have improved much, but if they actually get VVD or Keita then they'll be right up there with the favourites.

And so on. I think a similar start to last season will be necessary, just hope the deeper, younger squad will be able to carry the momentum past October.
 
it's the first year we realistically have the best squad in the league. Media and other fans were saying it all the time since takeover but in fact we had only very good first team and not even that on all positions, but our bench, beside attack in Mancini era, was usually midtable quality.
