Can't seem to let the Villa thing go.

As mentioned by another poster, I dont think Villa believed they had a chance of CL this year. I still think they might choke, they going on a losing streak, and its not a good habit to have, regardless of the competition. They've now lost four on the bounce, x 2 eufa 1 FA cup and Chelsea in the league. Their have some tough games coming up; us, dippers, rags, west ham & everton. Think they will slip up big time.

Villa's still looking quite likely to be the first team in years to break into the top four and get a CL spot, which is much more important than UEFA. I think O'Neill knows that the fans will be happy enough with CL football next season anyway. I'd see why the fans would be upset, but I can really understand Villa's thinking.

Honestly mate I'd have to think about that question. For me the answer isn't that clear at all, almost leaning towards CL footie right now. The standard of English football at the moment is probably better than ever and people know it, and show a real interest for it. The next English team to break in to the CL, at the moment looking likely to be Villa, will get a huge amount of attention.

But that's of course not saying they couldn't have had both if they really gave it a go. Guess we'll never know, but if they now fail to make the CL group stages O'Neill will be in a bit of a tight spot I'd imagine, regardless of how well they've done this season.

On the BBC Sport site, It says Villa & O'Neil have invited the 300 fans that went to Moscow to dinner at the ground.

Villa are such teachers pets, getting very annoying.

Thats due to the O'neill factor, he never failed to take 2 granny smiths in for his sports teachers!

Quite simple, its because the Champions league is where the money is at along with the attraction to bigger names/better players. O'Neill imo has the potential to be the best manager in the prem in a few years and is very astute when it comes to attracting players. He is building for the future and I wish to fuck we had him instead. One season and one trophy doesnt make you into a legend, ensuring you have the potential for the future does.

It didnt have a bad effect on the rags or MH when they won it all those years ago did it? And a lot of my mates really enjoyed the final. Im betting that winning the UEFA cup is a miles better feeling than finishing fourth in the Prem.
