Capital One Quarter final draw - Hull (h), 1st Dec (not on TV)

We shouldn't get too complacent here. Some teams will be going all out for a win, whilst we might still be compromised by injuries (or fear of them).
Of course, ideally, we should be seeing this as a fantastic chance to secure another trophy and (imo) play a full strength team, but I don't know if MP will see it that way with CL and PL fixtures to juggle with too.

Still, no disrespect to Hull, but the draw's been as kind to us as it could be really (not much between them and 'Boro).

Hull at home whilst not exactly an easy game does give us a great chance to reach the semi where we should be confident of beating any of the sides left in it over two legs. I know there's a lot of rags who are acting like the league cup doesn't matter right now but it's a trophy Id like to see us win again. Hopefully it won't be the only one we win this season ;)

Great draw for us right there. Think we have a really decent chance to get through to the semis with facing hull at home...although i realise they won't back down and will go all out to stop us but our extra bit of quality may well be the difference imho.

They're saying the league cup doesn't matter?

Pmsl!!!!! It fucking mattered when they knocked us out a few years ago and celebrated like they'd won the champions league.

You're right, it was a strange celebration a few years back given they don't care for the league cup and we apparently mean nothing to them??

This is all I've been hearing tonight from disgruntled rags... how this trophy doesn't matter"

""We purposely got knocked out of the league cup to help us focus on other competitions""

They are a joke of a fanbase.

Can't beat a good cup run, no matter how much we're winning these days a knock out tournament is great entertainment :)

That tie quite possibly marked the very high point of united's dominance over us. I think, in the main, they believed their party was going to last forever, no matter what.

What a beautiful time to be a blue.

It did, and being locked in old Trafford whilst getting gloated at from all sides, including the club themselves, remains one of my biggest lows. in fact I remembered that very occasion tonight as I pissed myself laughing tonight as they lost. In fact the car journey home tonight was possibly the best I've ever had after a match, with the easy home draw being the icing on the cake. I remember when those pricks seemed to get an easy draw every time.

He who laughs last laughs longest.

So intent on purposely on getting knocked out that they managed not to get knocked out in normal time, nor in extra time, but in a penalty shootout.

Bloody good at getting beat on purpose aren't they...

That was a tough night for me, on top of being hit by coins and being spat at repeatedly, my mate dropped me at the game and picked me up after, with being held in, not being able to find him and the traffic I didnt get back to his until gone midnight, then I still had the journey home, the M6 was closed for 2 junctions, I didnt get home until 3 am. Added to that my cricket club thought it would be funny to all text me when granny fucker scored, because I was in the ground, they didnt come through until I was driving back, my phone beeping with abuse every couple of mins.

You'd think that they had won shit loads of trophies in the last 24 months the way they have behaving about going out tonight. Cockney rag Goldstein on Talksport called it the crappy cup at one point.

We beat them 4-0 twice in the space of a couple of days once in the league if I remember correctly that season......and lost away 0-1 in the league as well.

Great draw v Hull, would have quite fancied the swamp with a fit Dave and Kun tho.
We lost the league game at Boro on the Saturday and then the first leg of the semi-final the following Tuesday, my first two visits to that shithole.
