car credit advice

Evans Halshaw are horrendous, my wife got a written apology from the Chief Exec a few years ago after one of their dealerships were openly misogynist to her.

She turned up for a test drive that she’d booked in advance. Was told to wait and sat there for almost 45 minutes until she went to see what was going on, until the branch manager said he’d “presumed she was waiting for her husband to get here”.

Eventually got to the car, sat in it and had a look around, pressed a few buttons before the salesman asked does she “know what she’s doing or does your man usually start a car for you?”

Started up and the fuel light and bell went, she pointed this out to the salesman who insisted it was just because the car was being started on a cold day and that she should leave things like that to “guys”. Obviously got less than half a mile before the car stopped, completely empty.

Phoned the dealer who said he’d get there when he “had time” and that she “shouldn’t drive a big car like that if she’s not used to it”.

Waited the best part of an hour before the dealership manager arrived and accused her of being too melodramatic and she’d obviously stalled it and asked whether her feet reached the pedals. She again pointed out the big flashing fuel light and that the screen said it was completely empty. He told her to wait with the car whilst he phoned for a mechanic to bring a can of petrol and wandered off.

She abandoned it in a bus stop and came home.
My God that bloke sounds like a right ****

I'd want more than an apology for that.

Easy win sex based discrimination lawsuit.
